In today's reading of Tyndale's OYCSB (with featured content written by the CBT team),

False teaching threatens the young churches of Galatia. The primary question for believing Jews and Gentiles is this: in order to be saved must a Gentile become a Jew by submitting to circumcision?

Paul understands this teaching of circumcision for both Jews and Gentiles who have come to faith in Christ changes the character of God, distorts his love, and rejects Christ as Lord and Savior.

In order to help the churches Paul and Barnabas have just planted to stand firm in their faith in Jesus, Paul continues an argument from yesterday's reading. He introduces four more arguments, proving that God’s terms for salvation have always been by grace through the shedding of the blood of the innocent on behalf of the guilty and through faith in Jesus who fulfilled these terms.
