In today's reading of Tyndale's OYCSB (with featured content written by the CBT team),

Like Philip needed help correcting his disciple-making methods, Apollos desperately needs someone who can explain the gospel accurately to come alongside him. Aquila and Priscilla meet him in Ephesus and teach him to explain the gospel accurately.

Paul begins his third missionary journey and ends up in Ephesus. There he finds 12 men who also need to understand the gospel accurately. Through these 12 men, a new congregation is established in Ephesus, and every person who lives in Asia hears the gospel in a two-year period of time.

While Paul is an Ephesus, he writes a letter to the church in Corinth. He spent more than a year with the believers there, but a culture of prideful celebrity teaching threatens the unity of this young church. Paul wants them to understand Jesus is their leader, and the gospel is not a means for men to gather followers for themselves.
