The word persecution brings up all sorts of visual mind pictures for the believer.

Thoughts of Christians being killed by lions in the ancient Roman Coliseum or Christians being thrown into prison or killed in various nations of the world today.

Currently, it is believed that every year 200 million Christians suffer some level of persecution around the world.

You and I must stand fast against the things of this world. . . the temptations, trials, and persecution.

The reward is too great to lose.

We will escape the second death by being faithful to the Lord Jesus Christ through all of the trials and temptations of this life. . .even if it means standing firm in the midst of persecution and death.

May we live as victorious Christians fully trusting in the fact that we are held in the hand of Almighty God.
