Paul concludes his letter to the Romans with instructions for Jews and Gentile believers to praise God together, anticipation of his future visit, greetings for genuine partners in the gospel, and a warning to chose their teachers in the word wisely.In Paul’s third letter to the church in Corinth, Paul testifies to the comfort only Jesus can provide and an explanation for the delay of his next visit to them.Although Paul did not plant the church in Rome, we learn that twenty-nine individuals and groups have labored to make Jesus known there. Paul confirms the fruit of their labor—new congregations—and affirms that his absence from them should not indicate a lack of joy over them or concern for them.Paul desires that the Corinthian church understand his absence from them should be understood in the context of his love for them.Paul speaks the truth in love. He hopes that his love will not be misunderstood.
