In today’s reading of Tyndale’s OYCSB (with featured content written by the CBT team),

  • The gospel writers record four of the six post-resurrection appearances of Jesus mentioned in Scripture.
  • Jesus patiently deals with His disciples' doubt and teaches them that the Kingdom of God exists in reality, not the realm of mysticism.
  • The cornerstone question for the world and remaining generations before Jesus’ return is, “Do you believe Jesus rose from the grave or not?”
  • The disciples are charged to spend the rest of their lives making disciples of all nations—helping others believe by faith and teaching believers to obey Jesus’ commands.
  • Indeed, Jesus is risen, and He will return to rule over the day of judgment.
  • The disciples must be restored after they deserted Jesus. They must know all the words of Scripture to shape their thinking. They will no longer see Jesus, but the Holy Spirit will baptize them. Now, they must believe, pray, know the Scriptures, and order their lives accordingly.
