East Carolina concluded the regular season 29-25 overall and 13-14 in The American to cap a disappointing campaign with its final series loss to USF. But the season can begin anew on Tuesday in Clearwater, with the opening of the American Athletic Conference tournament.

The Pirates need a run in Florida to extend their season with an AAC tournament title. Otherwise, they will miss postseason play for the first time since 2017.
