This week we sit down to discuss all the news we missed in October, and all the films we watched in October. But the main events are Gina Prince-Bythewood's historical epic The Woman King starring Viola Davis, Sam tackles the latest horror box-office hit Smile, and Lewis talks about Dwanye 'The Rock' Johnson's long-awaited DC blockbuster Black Adam. We recorded this episode last week so some of the info may be a little dated.
Jordan-Luke McDonald returns to the pod to discuss the final instalment of David Gordon Green's Halloween reboot trilogy in our late Halloween special. Sam discusses a horror marathon that included the likes of The Thing, The Shining and The Exorcist and the subject of Marvel fatigue is yet again debated.
After a long break, we have a lot to discuss so join us to enjoy all the news out of San Diego Comic-Con, and get into the Warner Bros Discovery debacle with Batgirl. After that, it's finally time for Sam and Lewis to take a look at Jordan Peele's hotly-anticipated third film, the sci-fi horror NOPE with Daniel Kalyuua and Keke Palmer, and David Leitch's action comedy Bullet Train.
HAPPY 100TH EPISODE EVERYONE! Thank you to all who've supported us over the last 2 and a bit years! We celebrate our centenary of episodes with a special ep where we each select 5 films and 3 TV shows to bring with us to a desert island with us (which is a completely original idea and not at all inspired by any long-running radio shows). Sam and J-L did this in August of 2020, and since we have swapped hosts and Sam has changed his opinions a lot, so we thought we'd revisit the format. Here's to the next 100!
