Mississippi native Clark Richey is somewhat of a one-man band… A professional mechanical engineer, singer-songwriter, actor, producer, writer and director, Clark can do it all and to add to the list, he’ll nationally release his feature film, “Mysterious Circumstance: The Death of Meriwether Lewis,” next month. He sits down with Marshall to discuss the film, his production company, Six Shooter Studios, his theater, The Claude Gentry, and just how he juggles it all!

Pediatric Neurosurgeon, Dr. John Jay Wellons has been in practice for more than twenty-one years. But time has not amassed anywhere near the footprint that he has, in world pediatrics. Born and raised in southern Mississippi, Dr. Wellons’s passion for healing has led him from the University of Mississippi Medical School in Jackson to the head of pediatric neurosurgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He joins the show today to discuss his 2022 book, “All That Moves Us: A Pediatric Neurosurgeon, His Young Patients, and Their Stories of Grace and Resilience,” life as a pediatric neurosurgeon in a post Roe v. Wade society and growing up in Mississippi.

Hailing from Ackerman in Choctaw County, Raymond Edwin Mabus, Jr.’s father would close his hardware Store once a year and the family would travel abroad to collect art, textiles, and historic memorabilia. Fast forward to 2022, Ray Mabus has continued this tradition and in-turn has amassed a wide ranging artifact collection that is currently being curated, by fellow Mississippian and designer of the BB King Museum, Steven Perkins, at his West Virginia home. From child collector to Auditor and Governor of Mississippi, in addition to serving as Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Secretary of the Navy on behalf of the United States, he discusses the curation of his collection and the journey that led to him becoming one of the most notable individuals in the magnolia state.

The summer box office smash Top Gun Maverick has left its mark on movie goers, and I’ve invited fighter pilots, Lt. Col. Lance Bowlin from the One-Seventy Second Airlift in Flowood, MS and Capt.
