Bio's:  

Dr. Myke Merril has been a pastor of a local church in one town for forty years, He graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Philosophy, and a minor in psychology, he also has a Master's of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary, with academic honors. After two years as an associate, he and his growing family located in Hilton, NY, and are still based there. He earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Northeastern Seminary with his dissertation, "The Five Basic Emotions: A New Systems Approach." 

Seizing on a wide variety of opportunities, he taught as an adjunct instructor in a local college for 29 years, directed regional and national youth programs for 20 years, owned a restaurant for seven years, and he wrote 22 books and training manuals. He has traveled extensively to train others across the United States and he currently co-owns a school system in Honduras. 

Michael Wilson is a Social Scientist and working professional in education for almost 20 years, along with 25 years in professional religious work.  In both areas he was actively training, speaking, counseling, crisis counseling, leader and leadership development. He traveled around to places around the world including, Israel, Haiti, Central Mexico. He is a Father of 5 grown children.

Dr. Dave Bettenhausen serves part-time, as the Vice President of Medical Affairs at a small midwestern hospital presently. He retired last year after twenty-five years as a physician and ten previous years as a cardiac nurse. Carla Bogni-Kidd retired last year after forty years of office managing for Dave and his predecessor.

Dave and Carla have been the best of friends since 1998 when Dave purchased the medical practice where Carla was the office manager. Together, they have been on a spiritual journey since beginning meditation in 2014. They have written three books with one more releasing in 2021. The first, “The Gift of Past Lives with Mother, Isabella, God & Elizabeth” is the story of how they learned they have lived 29 past lives together.

In this episode I am talking to Portia Louder about her story and how it led her to being sentenced to 4.5 years in federal prison. Portia and I crossed paths after she reached out to me after hearing or seeing a guest appearance that I did on a podcast called "Louder Now". We had a phone conversation, set up a date to record and I had to cancel because I went back to work. Another cool fact about something we both share. Both of us have been to The Other Side Academy to tell our stories.

Portia Louder, built a photography company that photographed 200 weddings a year in Utah, and surrounding states. She became involved in real estate in 2004 and was investigated and indicted for mortgage fraud. Portia was sentenced to a 7 year prison sentence, and served 4.5 years in federal prison, in California, and Minnesota.

She has documented much of that experience on her blog and Facebook page. She addresses addiction, loneliness, self awareness, and what it takes to move past mistakes and setbacks in life. Portia developed a love and sisterhood with the women she met in prison, and just finished writing a book highlighting many of their stories.

Portia has been married to her husband Chad for 24 years; they have 5 children and one grandchild and live in Highland Utah. She currently works at a treatment center helping women work through trauma, and overcoming addiction.

What bottom or life struggle would you like to share with our audience?  * Taking full ownership brought power back into my life to look forward, set goals, and dream again. Accountability is freedom for me. Every struggle had the seeds of transformation. It's up to me to decide how my story ends and I want an amazing ending!
