No matter how far away you get from God He will always take you back. One can’t serve the world and serve God too. You have to make a choice to whom you will serve. Living for God you will have the best of life. He is there to back you and help you all the way. No matter how far out you run away from God He will wait and look for you. He’s waiting for you to say that you’re unworthy of His grace. One can’t hide anything from God. You can try to hide your sins from God but they will be brought out into the light. God is there to restore your salvation and remove your sins. It’s lonely once you leave Christ. If you chose to leave God then you’ve left your first love, the one that loved you before you were born. The devil will whisper into your ear to tell you that it’s alright to do something small, just a simple sin. Before you know it, if you give into that small sin the next sin is sure to come. If you don’t repent of that sin it will surely take you further than you’ve ever wanted to go. But all you have to do is to fall on your knees and ask God to forgive you, go back home to the Father.

Our leader or captain of the Christian is as strong as they come. He is unequal. Once we understand who brings our strength then we can stand strong. It’s a weak attempt to try to estimate how strong God is. He created everything we see and can’t see today. The devil is quite the opposite of God and has no power. If we try to be strong in ourselves, we lie. We often think too small of God because of our human nature. Looking back thru the scriptures at the battles that took place we will see that not a single time did God lose. He came out a victor every single time. We often lose our battles because we do not see how strong God is. If we’ve been saved then He lives inside us and means we have all power.

There are three things that we can look at as the warfare of a Christian.

Are you ready for a great battle? The closer you get to God the more of a battle you will endure. If you’re dealing and battle with the flesh then that’s a discipline issue. In boot camp, the flesh is the first thing they deal with.

We are in this thing together and in everything we do, we must exalt Jesus. Just because the recent revival is over doesn’t mean we should stop growing or getting stronger. We can’t help others if we are as sick as they are. We should not be divided or separated by other things.

Who is Christ?

When using a microscope one must focus the eyepiece to make the object clear. In studying His word we must focus on His word. This takes work. Examine the book. One can’t just shake the diamonds out of the book, you’ve got to dig for them. When you come into the house of God you should have been mining in His word during the week. This isn’t just reading chapters but studying them out.

Not only do we need to examine the Lord but we also need to exalt Him. If He is lifted up He will draw all men unto Him. You mine the treasure you should want to share it. It doesn’t do anyone any good to stick it in your pocket and hide it.

We should also experience Him. Stop eating off someone else’s plate and get it for yourself. He’s got plenty to give so get yourself some of your own. Is He not good? It ought to be a feast of glory each time we come into the church house.

If you don’t have a longing for Christ then you need to take an inventory of your salvation. Once you begin to drop things of this world and make a commitment to God, you will being to grow closer to Him. Most of your living time is not spent for God. The very one a Christian will spend eternity with we chose to not be close to here on this earth.

First a foremost you must be born again.

Your yearning for God can’t be produced by your works. In fact, the more you yearn for God the more you will want to work for Him. If you’ve attended a church because you think He will be pleased with you then you’ve gone for the wrong reason. You should attend because you want to be close to Him.

When you are doing something for God you will go thru opposition. At times, you might find yourself in the wilderness but be not discouraged. The enemy is not your problem because the devil can’t touch you unless you let him. Secondly, the devil has already been judged and his eternity has been sealed.

We should want such a thirst for God that nothing can keep us out of His presence. What are you thirsty for? The spiritual man must battle the flesh. How many times do you sit in front of a TV? Watching TV or being entertained is not a sin until it gets in front of God.

Some of us have experienced God in our hearts and the excitement it brought. We should want to be in those Heavenly places and yearn for those times. We must crucify the flesh, and lay aside the weight of sin in order to have these experiences. Some look at it as I went to church Sunday morning so I’m good to go until next Sunday morning. Our bodies work with the way we eat, the more we eat the larger we get. The spiritual body works just the same. If you like a portion of food you will crave it and you will want it all the time. God should be no different.

How many times when you get into the wilderness do you just roll over like a fish that’s thrown on the bank. The flesh has yearnings just the same as your soul. Get outside in the middle of the heat and do a little work and you’ll quickly find out that you’ll yearn for water. Fasting during prayers. Replacing something the flesh yearns for God.

In general, life is good as long as things are going well. God is better than life itself. Where is your desire? If you’re lost then you have no idea what this desire is all about. You can’t know because that love is not in you.

A Christian’s responsibility is to praise God with our lips. Have you been holding out on God with your lips? In verse 4 David is making a commitment that while he’s alive he will continue to praise God.

If you live in the world you will quickly fill up on what the world has to offer. You’ll find that your belly (soul) will get full of that stuff (sin). Then when you do come to God your appetite is low for Him. You’ve got to get rid of that junk of the world before you can fill up on Jesus. Have you just stopped and taken some time to just meditate on God?
