How do we continue to live faithfully when life feels… heavy?
I've been thinking about this a lot lately.
As parents, we're not only raising children. We're thinking about their education, their future, their mental health, their character, their faith, and the kind of world they're going to inherit.
We're thinking about money. The economy. Work. Housing. The rising cost of everything. Building wealth. Using our gifts. Preparing for a future that's changing quickly because of technology and AI.
And somewhere in the middle of all of that, we're also supposed to take care of ourselves.
We're supposed to sleep. Exercise. Eat well. Rest. Have hobbies. Maintain our relationships. Keep our homes together. Be present parents. Be productive. Be spiritually grounded.
And sometimes you can do all of those things and still feel exhausted.
So I started asking myself a much deeper question: What does it actually mean to flourish when the world around you feels increasingly uncomfortable?
That question took me back to Genesis, the fall, fruitfulness, parenting, work, stewardship, wealth, education, discipline, and ultimately Jesus' words to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.
This is me thinking out loud about faith, parenting, money, the future, and what it means to keep pursuing a fruitful life without believing I have to control everything.
If you've been feeling like you're somewhere in the messy middle too, I hope this conversation reminds you that you don't have to have everything figured out to be faithful.
Maybe this episode will bless you the way this conversation blessed me.
