The last several blurbs have been rather lengthy, so I’ll keep this one short and sweet. This is the third Sunday of the month, which means it’s an “online exclusive”. We’ll meet online here at 10:45 a.m., start with some Community Time and cut right to the Talky Bit. If you want to bring something to the community’s attention (good, bad or otherwise), post it to the facebook page and I’ll share it. This is all part of our larger shift to gatherings that vary in form. We’ll post a podcast early the following week as well, which you can find here.. I’ll be continuing our series on Nuanced Compassion, with the emphasis this week being on what sorts of perspectives might help us stay open to the suffering of others, especially those we might not feel deserve compassion. Tricky stuff, but also essential if we wish to take our commitment to being compassionate people seriously.
Details about upcoming Sunday gatherings:
March 5th – alt.Sunday, This one’s going to be all about eating and hanging out. Judi says she’s going to make us all waffles (details in the blurb next week) so we can share food, conversation and connection. These are exactly the sort of times together that have gone missing during the pandemic, so (if you want) you can think of this as something like “waffle recovery therapy” (not an official thing as far as I know, but maybe history will say we started a trend). We may also experiment with “speed waffling”. And no – I’m not going to explain what that is.
More to come, but in the interest of honoring my commitment to keeping it short, that’s it for now.
I’ll see you on Sunday.
Peace,
