NEW YEAR'S EVE 2016 - AFTER-HOURS SET [RECORDED LIVE]

I'm a little late getting this out, but I played a 5 hour set at an after-hours party New Year's Eve weekend. I recorded the whole set, but the first two hours did not record clean. However, I was able to salvage the last 3 hours. It was great fun being able to get techy, dark and dirty... and even play some of my old favorites. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did playing it!

This is a musical voyage from the deep sounds of the day parties to the big sounds of the clubs... Welcome to my Miami experience!

As a purveyor of Electronic Music Culture [EMC] for over 15 years, I have watched and partaken in the evolution of EMC from underground clubs and raves to the mainstream. However, moving from Chicago to Miami in 2007 was a bit of a musical culture shock to me. I missed the Chicago vibe and sound, and slowly drifted away from my immersion in EMC.

But Miami began to change; the proliferation of pool parties and lounges offering that funky sound I missed so much filled me with excitement. The mega-clubs now increasingly offer diverse musical options, drawing me back to the main rooms of which the like I used to headline!

This growth and transformation has excited and motivated me to charge back into EDC. But instead of leveraging my former assets, I am rebranding myself and launching fresh platforms reflecting my new inner vibe.

When I left Chicago, I was primarily headlining main rooms around the Midwest U.S., banging out big club sounds. But now, I am motivated to do this more for the spirit of the music, and whether that is a lounge for 30 people or a club for 3000, it all comes from the same place - that vibe inside.

That is what this mix and new podcast represents - my transformative experience in Miami... from the funky deep house grooves of pool parties and lounges to the big room house sounds of our amazing clubs!

Last but not least - Sunrise at a beach in South Florida... there is no comparison. To that point, I will include one track at the end of every mix just for that moment -when your night is ending or your day is beginning (or both).

I tried to capture all of the aforementioned moments in this debut mix, and will continue to deliver fresh music, including my own remixes, in every set I post.
