Hola Hola! We are back with Season 3 of Conversaciones con Colegas and we are starting off our podcast, and Pride Month with the AMAZING Mz. Raya. Esmeralda Raya is finishing up their second year of teaching. They started off their schooling in pharmaceutical chemistry and their road led them to the classroom. Once in the classroom, they have used their background in Chicano/a studies to help “bring the real world into the classroom.” Mz. Raya has persisted through their educational studies to become a certified educator and be able to incorporate their knowledge within the classroom and constantly demonstrate that we are all capable of having a seat at the table.
You can find more about them and their work through:

Our hope and vision for our podcast is to elevate the voices and needs of educators and students, especially those voices which are often silenced or overlooked. Mz. Raya’s work aligns with LatinXChange as they continually provide relevant curriculum within the classroom while being their unique self. They also use their power of being bilingual and bicultural to engage both students and families in the classroom learning.
¡Gracias por escucharnos! Join the conversation on our Social Media Platforms and sign-up to our mailing list for an invitation to join our community platform. Also, reach out to us if you have any experiences or stories you’d like to share, our microphone is always open to colegas. Nos vemos la próxima semana, as we spend our Wednesday’s getting through the mid-week hump, juntos en comunidad y conversación.
