Every year artists are sued for 'stealing' hits’ whether it be the similarity of words, melody and rhythm are clear indicators which itself establish copyright infringement. i.e. Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke copied Marvin Gaye’s hit ‘Got to Give it Up’.

But the topic of Nicki Minaj copying Lil Kim and Lady Gaga copying Madonna has lasted a decade.

Kevin Hart is an African-American stand-up comedian star, whose career has survived acting debuts on bootleg DVD with ‘Paper Soldiers’ (2002)as well as consistent public attention on his personal life with both Eniko Parrish and Torrie Hart.

After the announcement that Kevin Hart would host The Oscars 2019, old homophobic tweets from 2009 and 2011 resurfaced; he didn’t lose one sponsorship and yet is 2nd on 2019 Forbes list of highest paid comedians.

I find Kevin’s journey of “started from the bottom now were here” [lyrics by Drake] fascinating because all at once; he is a true cancercian- funny, likeable and problematic in the Netflix docuseries: ‘Don’t F**k This Up’ .
