The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA) will stage a picket tomorrow at the Industrial Development Corporation's offices in Sandton, Johannesburg, in protest against looming retrenchments at ArcelorMittal South Africa. This follows the announcement by the company to shutdown its steel-making operations in Newcastle and Vereeniging which will result in 3,500 direct and indirect job losses.
