World TB Day is March 24th, and we celebrated by interviewing John and Avril Thomas, founders of Living Hope. For the past 20 years Living Hope has faithfully served the people of Cape Town, South Africa through various services such as healthcare, substance abuse recovery, life skills, and agricultural training. Kelly spent the summer of 2008 with the nurses in their healthcare center, and it was there that she developed her passion for community health nursing. This is a special episode. Anne has always known two things; she loves to dance, and she wants to be a nurse. Both of those ideas were challenged the summer after her freshman year of college when she suffered severe damage to her spinal cord and was told that her prognosis was “unknown.” Anne hasn’t let that stop her from continuing on the journey towards her two greatest passions. She is quite an inspiration. We know you’ll love this episode!

February is American Heart Month! We sat down with Mr. Chris Martin, an Assistant Clinical Professor here at Auburn University School of Nursing, and talked all about heart health. He shares some great stories from his clinical experience, gives practical tips on how to keep a healthy heart, and even lets us in on some things he’s doing personally to follow his own advice! We loved interviewing Mr. Martin, and we know you’ll love listening. Everyone has a heart – let’s do our best to take care of them!
