    You've probably heard the word cirrhosis, but what is it and why is it so concerning?

    Cirrhosis is deeply concerning due to its potential to severely damage the liver. As scar tissue gradually replaces healthy liver tissue, the organ's ability to process nutrients, detoxify the blood, and produce essential proteins decreases.

    Cirrhosis often develops silently, with symptoms appearing only in later stages when significant damage has occurred.
