Nurture and Support

No one thought, and even fewer wanted, Dr. Mike and I to reach 100 episodes.  But we did.

Episode 100 is full of clips of “special” moments pulled from many of our earlier shows.  You’ll hear who all our guests were, a litany of “So Kelly, are you a ____ guy?”, and a few well wishes to boot.

We have had a lot of fun with our 1st 100 and look to keep on rolling.

Be sure to listen ALL the way to the end for an easter egg and check out a very special (and lightly edited) YouTube version of Episode 100 too.

Another recommendation show this week gang….

Mike: www.movieposters.com

A high quality, reasonably priced site to secure… yes… movie posters.  An example of a recent purchase by Mike:

Kelly: Duel (movie, 1971)

A movie that remarkably parallels Squat Cobbler as well as being a great thriller.  Here it is in all of its free glory

Mike also found this truly Monty Pythonesque movie poster for Duel on his recommendation…

Social Media recommendations:

Mike: Nikki Bilderback (in a sad attempt to unseat me as Nikki’s favorite)

Kelly: #punoftheday (search it on Twitter or Instagram)

This week Mike and I do a recommendation show.  We are using OBS and standard Google Hangouts to record now, and I clearly I have some learning to do.  I THOUGHT I was muting my mic via the Hangout, but clearly that was not the case.  So this episode you will be treated to ice clanking in my drink and nearly omnipresent labored nose breathing.  Hopefully for the last time.  Sorry!!

Kelly’s Recommendation: Colonial cooking and such on the Townsends YouTube Channel

Mike’s Recommendation: Unsolved Mysteries: The Unexplained Original Broadcast Soundtrack

Social Recommendation from Mike: Terror Vision on Instagram

This week Mike and I are joined by our long time friend, Allison Victoria-Wolfe.  We Twitter-met when Swamp Shark aired and Allison has been kind enough to join us several times on various podcasts.  She is always amazingly fun to chat with.  Since last we met, ALLISON WON SEASON 15 OF WORST COOKS IN AMERICA!

We talk a lot about that, Mike and Allison exchange cooking tips, and Allison bravely addresses her anti-cheese stance as well as “the pepper flake incident”.

We also get to hear a little bit about a project Allison has in pre-production!

Kelly’s recommendation: Ryan George’s “Pitch Meeting” videos on the Screen Rant YouTube channel (even though I repeatedly referred to them as “Movie pitch” on the podcast… whoopsie!)

One of Mike’s favorites…

One of Kelly’s….

Mike’ Recommendation: To automate his new secured bunker Mike has started to use good quality, affordable Sengled Smart LED bulbs. And lots of Echos and Dots.

Fun fact. This was our last podcast recorded with Google Hangouts on Air.   Mike and I wondered when our first one was… March 14, 2013 – Snarkalec Radio.

Two fun recommendations this week…

Mike – Arcade 1up Arcade Cabinets

Mike highly recommends these price point friendly, not too difficult to set up arcade cabinets.  List to the podcast to get the lowdown the pros and cons

Some stills rom Mike “Mr. Fix-it” assembly…

Bonus pic, Kelly’s old school pinball machine

Kelly – FaceApp

You all have heard of it.  The aging ability is AMAZING.  But, might want to consider deleting once you get a pic you like.  As promised… old Mike and Kelly…

Effective August 1 Google will shut down Hangouts on Air. Since this has been the base product we use for both the Nurture and Support and Squat Cobbler podcasts, Mike and I ponder the future.  We also plead with our listeners to give us suggestions.
