A Walk Around Mariners’ Lake with Rob Nichols
For the first episode of the Nurture With Nature Podcast, I’m joined by Rob Nichols, Mariners’ Lake Program Coordinator at The Mariners’ Museum and Park.
We take a walk around Mariners’ Lake and talk about Rob’s relationship with nature, how that relationship developed over time, and what ultimately led him into environmental education, outdoor recreation, and stewardship.
Along the way, we talk about the lake as more than just a beautiful place to visit. Rob shares how nature can create opportunities for learning, reflection, community engagement, and connection, especially when we slow down long enough to actually notice what is around us.
And true to the podcast, there are no cameras, no lights, and no studio distractions. Just a real conversation, the sounds of the lake, and a few moments where we stop talking altogether and simply listen.
This episode is a reminder that connecting with nature does not have to be complicated. Sometimes it starts with taking a walk, paying attention, and being open to what the environment has to teach you.
Welcome to Episode 1 of the Nurture With Nature Podcast.
