In the enterprise technology world, that maxim could easily be rewritten as: The only constant in IT is change. Platforms evolve, licensing models shift, and infrastructure decisions that felt solid five years ago suddenly need rethinking. For many organizations, that reality now includes re-evaluating their virtualization strategy and, in some cases, making the move from VMware to a different hypervisor.

Balance the speed of the cloud with the need to keep data secure and compliant with global sovereignty regulations: This is a core challenge for modern enterprises. Enterprises today need a single, consistent way to manage all their infrastructure across private datacenters, public clouds, and at the edge.

As far as analysts and customers were concerned, hypervisors within the datacenter were a very mature segment that had been on cruise control for the past decade.
VMware was a leader for most of the 21st century. However, during the past decade, Nutanix has been developing AHV to meet customer demand and has made steady and noteworthy progress.

The Nutanix Cloud Clusters (NC2) platform is a cost-effective solution for managing virtualized workloads in the cloud. It also provides the quickest way to move to the cloud without the need to refactor applications. NC2 can help with applications that run in virtual machines (VMs), but it can help equally well with containerized apps running in Kubernetes, thanks to the Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) solution, which runs both on-premises and on NC2.
