“It’s a power grab for the American people,” said Representative Zoe Lofgren of California, a progressive Caucus member who last week helped ram through House passage of H.R. 1, the Democratic Party’s nearly 700-page “voter reform” act.

“What kind of government would cancel the vote of its own citizens,” asked Texas Republican Rep. Dan Crenshaw, “and replace it with non-citizens?”

One of 29 Republican amendments Democrats slapped aside would have condemned voting by illegal aliens.

H.R. 1 instead encourages illegal aliens to vote wherever permitted in state and local elections, such as in sanctuary city San Francisco. Local elections are where future members of Congress develop their name identification, contributors and political skills.

H.R. 1 is House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s attempt to impose California’s rigged election laws – including its automatic voter registration – on the rest of the United States.

Immigrants, said Pelosi, reinvigorate America. “These newcomers make America more American. And we want them … to be fully part of our system. And that means not suppressing the vote of our newcomers to America.” We, said Pelosi, should give illegal aliens “leverage” in our politics.

We witnessed what this would mean in California’s 2018 elections, where many Republicans won their congressional seats on election night but were declared losers days or weeks later because a floodtide of mysterious ballots seemingly from nowhere were counted for Democrats.

Under the U.S. Constitution, states and localities were to control the voting process. For many decades, judges have been changing this. Before the 2018 election, Democrat judges took redistricting away from elected state legislatures in Pennsylvania and North Carolina and re-drew congressional district boundaries – a judicial gerrymander that favored Democratic candidates.

Billionaire Democratic donor George Soros has spent many millions electing leftist state Attorneys General and local district attorneys who control election recounts and tilt their results leftward.

H.R. 1 circumvents the Constitution by putting the Federal Government in control of all elections. “In essence,” wrote Investor’s Business Daily, “people like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the prime backer of this awful bill, would now be ‘supervising’ all of our elections.” This is why Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell calls H.R. 1 the “Democrat Politician Protection Act.”

It changes the 3-3 balance on the Federal Election Commission to 3-2, meaning that Democrats would often rule and could skew leftward FEC rules and enforcement.

Under H.R. 1, states must allow all convicted felons to vote. According to university studies, convicted felons vote up to 88 percent of the time for Democrats. Dear Mr. President:

 

While America’s so-called intelligence community has been asleep, even before the George W. Bush administration, Russian President Vladimir V. Putin played a role in the proposed oil and gas pipeline route through western Afghanistan for transporting from the landlocked Caspian-Aral Basin in Central Asia that is related to 9-11 and America’s longest war in the Middle East. Dr. Condoleezza Rice, who had arranged for U.S. troops to be deployed to several of the Central Asian nations along the border of northern Afghanistan, was assisted by Stephen E. Biegun who then served as Executive Secretary of the National Security Council when she was Assistant to the President and National Security Adviser during 2001 because they both spoke Russian. As a result of their dealings with the Putin regime and the Kremlin in Moscow, the war in Afghanistan has continued without any end in sight.

 

Now, as the U.S. Special Representative for North Korea, Stephen E. Biegun stated yesterday at a conference sponsored by the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace that “We are not going to do denuclearization incrementally.” He further stated that “The U.S. will not agree to a step-by-step approach to eliminating nuclear weapons.” In his speech, on Monday, March 11, 2019, he said your administration will insist that North Korea follow through on its commitment to completely eliminate its nuclear weapons before the U.S. agrees to the lifting of international sanctions.

 

Unfortunately, based upon current intelligence information, such a policy will only fail while the threat towards Washington from Pyongyang continues to increase.

During the 1940s, there was a song, “Begin the Beguine” composed and written about a dance called the Beguine. However, my title for this article was derived from the name of Stephen E. Biegun who is currently serving as the U.S. Special Representative for North Korea after he had resigned from his position on the Board of Directors at The U.S. Russia Foundation. While he speaks the Russian language fluently and had previously served in Russia for the Ford Motor Company, his credentials as a foreign policy expert do not impress me in spite of him being so well connected due to having such a strong involvement with the Council of Foreign Relations or CFR as is the case for National Security Adviser John R. Bolton and other members of President Donald J. Trump’s Cabinet and White House Staff.

 

In the administration of President George W. Bush, Mr. Biegun served as executive secretary of the National Security Council and he reported directly to Dr.
