THE HIT AND RUN CRISIS

Forward: This article is being dedicated to Dr. Bill Deagle, M.D. who had encouraged me to do further research on Venezuela that is related to current Chinese and Russian military activity in the Socialist Latin American nation, which has some of the largest oil reserves in the world.

 

On December 18, 2018 an article at The WarZone on the Internet written by Joseph Trevithick that he titled “Venezuela Agreed To Let Russia Set Up A Bomber Outpost On This Island,” which reported about La Orchila Island in the Caribbean Sea becoming a Russian air base at a strategic location. Satellite imagery photographs included with his article as well as from other sources had indicated that an asphalt runway on La Orchila Island had been expanded and also completely refurbished to a length of 3,200 meters or 10,499 feet, which is nearly two miles in length, during the years from 2009 until 2013 by the Russians. In 2018, a Russian official made a statement related to this island air base, which indicated: The arrival of Russia’s Tu-160 strategic bombers to Central America…” It should be noted that most Russians know their geography well enough to be able to differentiate or distinguish accurately between Central America and South America.

 

While Joseph Trevithick reported about this Russian military air base in the Caribbean Sea, his emphasis was mainly upon its capability to accommodate the Tu-160 Blackjack Bomber, which only requires a runway of 2,200 meters or 7,218 feet. However, he did mention that it could also land an Antonov-124 Ruslan heavy military air transport that can carry 150 tons of cargo, which needs an airstrip of only 2,200 meters or 7,218 feet in length for landings and take-offs.

 

Upon closer examination of satellite photos for the military air base controlled and operated by the Russians onLa Orchila Island had also revealed a second airfield under construction that is parallel to the already functioning runway, which will be even longer and wider to accommodate the more advanced and much largerAntonov An-225 Mriya air military transport that requires a runway with a length of at least 3,000 meters or9,843 feet and a width of 30 meters or 197 feet.

But the An-225 really needs an airfield that has a length of 3,500 meters or 11,483 feet, which is over two miles long.

 

Now that we know that this Russian air base located on La Orchila Island is primarily designed to accommodate the much larger Antonov An-225 Mriya strategic heavy military air transport, why is it so essential for the Kremlin in Moscow?

 

The answer is for only one reason and that is for the An-225 to be able to land and take-off from La Orchila Island in the Caribbean Sea as an alternative re-fueling stop-over,

At Cucuta in Colombia near the border with Venezuela, there are stockpiles of humanitarian aid, which includes food and medical supplies, from many countries in Europe and also Latin America that is not being allowed to reach the starving Venezuelans. Perhaps additional aid by another means such as air and sea directly from the United States could reach the poor people in Venezuela. Although this situation is desperate, such operations would require calculated risks so additional back-up support from U.S. and other military forces is necessary for security.

 

In the meantime, security for interim Venezuelan President Juan Guaido and his family must be given highest priority due to current threats from Dictator Nicolas Maduro and Maikel Moreno who is President of the Supreme Tribunal of Justice of Venezuela and also a convicted felon who murdered 19-year-old Ruben Gil Marques as well as being accused of involvement in another murder. Moreno is also sanctioned bySwitzerland due to human rights violations. JWS

In the Roger Stone Case and the 2019 "Worldwide Threat Assessment":

Feb. 1 -- The predawn raid on January 25, conducted against long-time Donald Trump ally Roger Stone, by more than twenty FBI agents brandishing heavy weaponry and wearing body armor, was meant to send a chilling message to anyone wishing to speak on behalf of the President: If you persist in defending Trump, you may become a target of an out-of-control special counsel.  

While the use of such heavy-handed tactics might be justified in dealing with a notorious terrorist, a violent narcotics trafficker, or a murderous psychopath, in this case it was deployed against a well-known, successful political consultant, who played a leading role in helping Trump win the 2016 election.  He was charged in a seven-count indictment with such crimes as "lying to Congress".  Robert Mueller's team chose this tactic to further intimidate him after more than nearly two years of leaks and innuendo, as part of a campaign to harass and bankrupt Stone, hoping it would cause him to "flip", to bear false witness against Trump, to protect himself and his family.

Prominent civil liberties attorney Alan Dershowitz commented that, like most of Mueller's indictments, Stone was hit with so-called process crimes.  The charges have nothing to do with the purpose of the investigation, which, as initially defined by Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein, was to determine if there was collusion by Trump or members of his campaign with Russians who they charged with meddling in the election.  Dershowitz pointed out that the majority of the crimes alleged by Mueller's team to have been committed by Trump officials occurred AFTER the election, in response to the investigation.  He added that the purpose of the indictment of Stone "was to get [Stone] to cooperate against Trump."  The charges against Stone were generated in part from Mueller's thuggish practice of intimidating witnesses -- in this case Randy Credico and Dr. Jerome Corsi, former associates of Stone -- to turn against him.

Mueller is operating on the hypothesis, first put forward by British intelligence officials and picked up by Obama intelligence officials Brennan, Clapper and Comey, and then pursued by various corrupt officials of the FBI and the Justice Department (DOJ), that Stone may have been the one who provided the Trump campaign with advanced notice of the Wikileaks' dump of incriminating Clinton campaign documents.  In doing so, they believe Stone may have been the link between Trump and the Russians who, according to the official narrative, acted under Putin's direction to hack the documents and make them available, to aid Trump's campaign.  In the absence of any hard evidence of either "meddling" or "collusion" to prove this, Mueller is using "process" indictments to build a case against Trump.  Stone continues to insist that he had no advance knowledge of the source or the content of the Wikileaks' disclosures, and will not lie to implicate Trump.
