April 20, 2020Episode 53 - NWA Dirt Report - April 20th, 2020Awesome weekend to be on the bike. Trails were crawling with people, so be sure if your riding Coler or Slaughter Pen to tone it back a speed and keep your eyes up for individuals coming head-on. Even with the rain yesterday it called for a great day at the pump track. The beginning of this week is going to be gorgeous. Get out and explore between meetings and go out at off times so you can miss the crowds. Balance the shittiness - write a letter. Throw it back, break out the stationary, and send a thoughtful note by mail. It goes a long way for you and whoever you are sending it to. Community Support - if you know a business in town that is in need of a shout out on how to support during this time please send it to [email protected] so we can get their voices heard! Support one another, be safe and look forward to your next adventure!...more13minPlay
April 17, 2020Episode 52 - NWA Dirt Report - April 17th, 2020We made it through this weird winter stint and are bobbing/weaving around the storm patterns. Saturday is your day to go out and adventure seeing as Sunday looks to be a storm day. If you have the day and are looking for something to do go out and “earn your turns” at lake leatherwood. Safe bet around bentonville is the back 40, and tunnel vision in little sugar. Balance the shitty-ness with picking up trash on your daily walk with the pup. Every little bit counts more then you know! Be safe out there and look forward to your next adventure!...more11minPlay
April 15, 2020Episode 51 - NWA Dirt Report April 15th, 2020April showers..... wait it’s freeze thaw today... it can’t be, it’s April.... oh it is not just a bad dream. Nope we are dealing with freezing temperatures. With buds on the trees, the dogwoods popping and birds chirping we will have some sepage due to freeze thaw. Break out that winter gear and if your going to get some miles stay as high on the hills as you can. Get out to Hobbs and ride the Karst loop or stick to phase 1 of slaughter pen. Ride safe and bundle up. This cold weather will be gone soon and we can get out and enjoy the spring again soon!...more11minPlay
April 13, 2020Post Ride Beer Report - Collin SigersGot to share a cold beverage with none other then Collin Sigers. We delved into a bit of what he is doing around the house during this quarantine, how he is still enjoying the wonderful trails, a bit of his less known history of long boarding, what makes bentonville so special, and how to do the best date night in town. He couldn’t let the episode end without letting us know that Jagged Axe’s new section in Bella Vista is a blast and to get you stoked on riding it this summer. This dude is awesome and I can’t wait to share a ride soon. #flattenthecurve...more26minPlay
April 13, 2020Episode 50 - NWA Dirt Report - April 13th, 2020The beginning of this last weekend was time to go get lost out in the woods. Perfect weather leads to miles and miles on the trails. Happy Easter everyone and I hope you enjoyed zoom calls with your friends and family while the rain came down. It was a great day for a walk between storms. Today winter won one of its last battles for the year and was freezing cold and wet. If your going to ride stick to the high side of slaughter pen and Coler or get out in Bella Vista for some exploration but dress accordingly. Support your local businesses during these times and if the bike needs fixed but you don’t want to go into a shop I have the solution for you. Give Dennis at CycleOG a call and you can have your bike back in working order without having to leave your house! “Balance the Shittyness” - if it is one of those days that your feeling down about being inside again go out and do some good. It will make you feel better and fill up some of that extra time you have. Take a trash bag around your neighborhood or a special place you feel connected to and do your part to take care of this gorgeous place. Every bit counts and you will feel better about the situation, I promise! Look forward to your next adventure, be safe and flatten this curve!...more14minPlay
April 10, 2020Episode 49 -NWA Dirt Report - April 10th, 2020Blue bird skies and steam rolling off the coffee this morning make for an epic day of riding. No humidity and cool temps call for a full day on the bike. Hop on the bike and get lost in little sugar or the back 40. Bob and weave to avoid people and get it in before the weather this weekend of bad weather. I know we are going stir crazy but keep up the social distancing so the small business owners can get back to serving the community that we love!...more10minPlay

You can’t choose a wrong place in the bentonville area to hop on trail right out your back door and get lost. FIRST POST RIDE BEER REPORT with this new format! When you cant get together to have the beers in person we move to virtual. Following both our rides this weekend, Hall of Fame Mountain biker Nat Ross and I got on a call to catch up. April 06, 2020Episode 48 - NWA Dirt Report - April 6th, 2020Week is shaping up to be some spectacular spring weather (knock on wood). The weather app shows great temps and sunshine to be the backbone to some miles ridden on the bike. Find a new loop this week. Start and finish somewhere new to change up your normal routine ride. Clay trails should be ripping by tomorrow for sure (maybe even tonight depending on what the weather does today). Get out and explore. Be safe in doing so and enjoy every minute in the saddle....more11minPlay
April 03, 2020Episode 47 - NWA Dirt Report - April 3rd, 2020April showers brings May flowers they say. We are getting both right now. Rain storms are a chance everyday it seems like and spring is fully in the air. New life, sounds and colors brought back to the sleeping woods. Use your weather apps to plan a safe ride and stick to the natural stuff today. Depending on how it dries out and when the next storm rolls in depends on how this weekend shapes up. Social distancing tip today - Early bird gets the worm. Pick your times to ride when trail systems will be in less use. Set the alarm early or go out with the lights after the sun goes down. Be safe and ride within your means. The more we follow this social distancing the sooner we can all come back together again. I cannot wait!...more10minPlay
April 01, 2020Episode 46 - NWA Dirt Report - April Fools (April 1st, 2020)Woke up to a bit colder morning, but the sunshine put a smile on our face. The sun and breeze yesterday would have helped dry out some of our trails for today. The longer the sun is on them today the better the trails will run. Be ready to ride through some seepage but tread will be great. Go explore Little Sugar or take a hike on a trail you ride often. Here’s Johnny is a cool one to walk and look at off the bike. Social distancing tip: Find new parking areas that may be a bit further from the trail head. No one is using church or school parking lots right now and provide great access to trails. Park at Lincoln and access Tristans trail from there. Be safe and hope there is some great jokes today! Enjoy...more10minPlay
