  • Episode 176: A Bunch of Muppets
Welcome to the latest episode of Nintendo World Report's Connectivity podcast. After a couple of weeks to settle in and unpack all the equipment for our new studio, (It's a whole lot, really!). We have returned with a fun episode for you all to enjoy.
After a quick brainstorming session, Nick and Zach jump into the chairs to have a chat about Diddy Kong Racing on the new segment, Chat Retro. After that, Neal, Addison and John talk about a whole host of things in What We've Been Playing.
We would also like to mention that for the time being, Connectivity will be moving to a bi-weekly schedule. It may only be for awhile, but there is no set time limit on if and when the show may return to a weekly appearance. We hope you enjoy this week's Connectivity, we are just getting warmed up again, look forward to more great segments in the coming weeks.
Also, we need your Listener Mail! Please send in some hard-hitting questions for the Connectivity gang to ponder over. [email protected]

  • Episode 175: Regeneration
Hey guys! Scott here, and the abstract up there is correct: this is the last episode of Connectivity I'll be producing and appearing on regularly. I'll still be here at Nintendo World Report writing and publishing video, but my time at the helm of this show has come to an end. Nicholas Bray will be taking over my duties and is currently working with Neal to reboot the show, so be on the look out for that in a few weeks. For now, let's get to this week's super-sized show. I decided to go out with a bang, so this episode features some of my favorite segments from the past four years.
First up, I'm joined by Donald and J.P. to break down the first round of the NHL playoffs. That's right; it's my last show, so we're starting with hockey! The guys review the 2014-15 season that was and share their predictions for each first-round match up.
After that, I crack open some listener mail with Neal, Nick and Zach. You wanted to know how we'd run Nintendo if we were given the keys, what we think about gaming in Brazil, what the deal is with Rosalina's name in Japan, and a whole lot more. Plus, in this segment, we meet a valuable member of team Nintendo: Steve the Intern! #SteveTheIntern needs to trend, you guys.
In our next bonus segment, Alex, Zach and I discuss the first few hours of Bloodborne, the PS4 exclusive from the masterminds behind Dark Souls. The guys discuss what makes Bloodborne different from its predecessors (for better or worse) and how it's positioned to be a monster hit for Sony (pun intended). Pants and shirts are optional for this one.
Next up, another bonus segment! Here, Amanda, Nick and I reflect on the reboot of Doctor Who, which just celebrated the 10th anniversary of its launch. How did we all get hooked on the story of a 1,000-year-old alien traveling through time with young and unsuspecting Brits? We'll tell you! Also, more theories about who the Master is.
Closing the show out, Jeopardy returns! Zach and I host the game, while Neal, Andy and Nathan compete for ultimate glory. See who comes out on top in this Newscast reunion.
That pretty much does it. Stay tuned for what Nick has in store for the show. And on a personal note, I just want to thank everyone who has been involved with the show, from the staff and special guests to the listeners. Connectivity flourished in a way I could have never imagined, and because of it I've made so many incredible friends. Thank you for listening every week and making this such a fun four years.

  • Episode 174: Camera Control
Hello and welcome to episode 174 of Connectivity! We have two segments for you this week.
Kicking things off, Neal, Zach and Bryan discuss Super Mario 64, which just released on the Wii U Virtual Console. Most definitely a masterpiece in 1996, the gang reviews how the genre-defining game holds up nearly 20 years. From the great music and open world design, to the spotty camera control and infuriating swimming, the guys break down what still works and how Mario 64 is still influencing Mario games today.
After that, enjoy the audio-only version of this week's Nintendo News Report, featuring Alex, Scott, and special guest Joshua Hillyer. Stories include amiibo Wave 4 preorder nightmares, the quick Code Name: Steam patch, and a whole bunch of Level 5 news.
Be sure to send us your listener mail and submission for best shooter music to [email protected]. We'll see you next week!

  • Episode 173: Spaltoon'd
It's episode 173 of Connectivity, wow! First off, I have to start with an apology for the lack of an episode last week, which was due to a scheduling mishap. We'll try to make sure that never happens again. Now, on with the show.
This is a video game podcast, and we all play games, but we sure haven't spent a lot of time talking about what we've been playing lately. So, the "What We've Been Playing" segment makes its triumphant return! Alex, Zach, and Nick have all been playing a bunch of different stuff, and get together to discuss it all.
Our second segment is a recent episode of Nintendo News Report in which Chris and Greg from the Player One Podcast join Alex to go over a bunch of Splatoon news among other stuff.
We're going to record our segment on the best shooter music soon, so please get you submissions in. That's schmups or FPS, so go crazy why don't you? You can submit those, and your listener mail questions, to [email protected]. And if you have a few minutes free, why not rate and review the show on iTunes? I promise it really helps the show grow.

  • Episode 172: I Miss You
Welcome one and all to episode 172 of Connectivity! With the madness that was PAX East 2015, we didn't really have a ton of time to record a series of segments for this week's episode. So instead, we're giving you one big segment about what else but PAX East 2015. Settle in and listen to Neal and Zach break down their time at the show in glorious stereophonic sound. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
Our mailbag is running a bit low, so why not drop us a question or comment at [email protected]. We also still need more submissions for your favorite shooter music at that same address. And if you have a moment please rate and review to show on iTunes to help spread the Connectivity love. Thanks!

Daan shares his impressions of each of these highly awaited and upcoming games. After that, Neal and Alex get together to gush about Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, their current obsession. The guys discuss their addiction and what makes this the best entry in the series.

Hello and welcome to episode 170 of Connectivity! We have two regular segments and one bonus segment for you this week.
Kicking things off, Scott, Neal and Zach discuss Kirby and The Rainbow Curse. Join the guys as they talk about the legacy of Canvas Curse and how this beautiful claymation sequel upholds it. Plus, amiibo complaints, like always!
After that, enjoy the audio-only version of this week's Nintendo News Report, where Scott and Alex preview Nintendo's spring lineup and review the week's news. We are really excited about the release of every Donkey Kong Country/Land game on the eShop; less so about the reveal of the gold Mario amiibo.
Closing out the show, Zach and Scott host another Dino Chat segment. Why are some dinosaur bones radioactive? Did aquatic dinosaurs lead to penguins? How come Chris Pratt can train raptors? Zach answers these and other burning questions!
