Hi everyone! Thank you so much for clicking on this episode! In this one, I chat with multidisciplinary filmmaker, Emmanuel Afolabi, about his transition from photography to filmmaking, finding his niche and appreciation for humanity through storytelling, films that have changed his perspective and stuck with him, his pre-production and production process, and the messages he aimed to convey in his short film: “Bio: ‘Diaspora’”. Enjoy!

Titled after Matthew A. Cherry's short film, "Hair Love," today's episode is with one of my best friends, Ama-rachi Aliogo. She takes me through her hair journey starting from being inspired by her sister to go natural, to embracing her whole self through patience and consistency, and turning to blogging to share her experiences and lessons accumulated over the years with others. In this episode, she speaks on letting go of Western standards of beauty, overcoming insecurities, and the most rewarding parts of fully owning her kinky, coily 4b hair.
Hi everyone! Thank you so much for clicking on this episode! I wanted to end the year with a reminder to always show up for yourself and embrace where you are currently so I sat down with Sinmi Adepoju a.k.a DJ Lolu to chat about what encouraged him to become a mental health advocate, living with seasonal affective disorder, finding power in vulnerability, and how the patriarchy contributed to the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and well-being amongst others things. Enjoy!
