To celebrate the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, we have a story from the waning days of World War II. Three forces are descending on a German prisoner of war camp full of French VIPs and assorted European resistance fighters: an American company with 4 Sherman tanks, a large group of fanatical SS troops and, most unlikely of all, a group of former German soldiers turned Austrian freedom fighters.
