We take a look at Mary during the second week of Advent. Mary was a picture of humility. We think of humility as how someone responds when they have wealth or fame, but the story of Mary shows us that humility is just as much about what we want before we have those things.

No one likes to wait. We live in a fast-paced, get-it-now culture that teaches us that we shouldn’t have to! That’s why waiting on God can be one of the hardest things we do.

Jesus said that the kingdom of God is in our midst. He was saying that things can be the way they are supposed to be – the way God intended them to be – in your life and in our world, because of who He is and what He has done for us. We talk about what that means for us and how we make that a reality in our lives.

We all long to hear from God. Well, we can. And we have. Our problem is often not hearing, but listening. We’re challenging Oak City Church to spend consistent time in God’s Word during 2018, and we’ll hear why that challenge matters so much.
