Sermon scripture verses:
Luke 8:41-42
Luke 17:12-19
1 Kings 17:2-4
Notes:
The verses from todays sermon share a common theme of divine provision and intervention in times of need.
Luke 17:12-19: Jesus heals ten lepers, but only one—a Samaritan—returns to give thanks. This passage highlights God’s mercy and healing, as well as the importance of gratitude and faith.
Luke 8:41-42: Jairus, a synagogue leader, pleads with Jesus to heal his dying daughter. This passage emphasizes faith in Jesus’ power to heal and the desperation of those seeking divine help.
1 Kings 17:2-4: God commands Elijah to hide by the brook Cherith, where He provides water and sends ravens to bring food. This passage showcases God’s supernatural provision during a time of drought and hardship.
In all three instances, people are in desperate situations—whether facing illness, death, or famine—and God steps in to provide, heal, and sustain. They also highlight the importance of faith and obedience in receiving God’s blessings.
