Oasis Church Athens

Chris Stewart leads a study in Philippians from his living room as the church is not meeting publicly during the COVID-19 threat.

On Sunday, March 8, many of the Oasis members were out of town for spring break, which provided us an opportunity to have a smaller, informal meeting in which we read the scripture together and discussed it. This time was moderated by Chris Stewart, but several others contributed to the dialogue, providing excellent wisdom and insight into the text. Enjoy!

Chris Stewart begins a new expository sermon series in the Book of Philippians.

Our good friend and brother, Pat Martin, visited the Oasis Church gathering and shared an inspiring message from Romans 12:3-8 about what it means for us to have peace in our spiritual lives as well as in our practical, day-to-day lives. So many really good takeaways from this message. Enjoy!

Chris Stewart talks about the greatest of all commandments and what it looks like in our lives.

What does it mean to have zero rights before God? Outside of the work of Christ on the cross and the grace He extends to us, what rights do we actually have? Is there anything that we are entitled to? Is God required to treat us a certain way?

Chris continues a discussion about what it means to be truly God-centered and focuses on answers to those questions.

If you live in southeastern Ohio, please join us some Sunday morning. We meet at 10:30am at the Athens Middle School at the corner of West State and High Street in uptown Athens, Ohio.

Chris Stewart begins talking about how to recognize the difference between being a God-centered person vs being a man-centered person.

Chris Stewart continues a series on being Bible-saturated and God-centered by going back to the beginning in order to see how it all connects to us today. The Story of God and His People, as told by the Old Testament, the foundation for the new Testament and for our reconciliation with God today.

In this message, Chris Stewart asks five challenging questions regarding Bible reading.

Chris summarizes the purpose for Christ's birth and its connection to us today.
