  • It's Easy to Fall (But You Don't Have to Stay Down) | The Pursuit of Freedom Week 2

It's easy to fall. It's a lot harder to figure out how to get back up.

This week we look at how our chains actually get made — one small compromise at a time — and why you can't clean yourself up in the same place you got dirty. If you've ever thought "this is just who I am," this message is for you.

Part of our current series leading into Freedom, a small group experience starting soon.

  • You Can Love Jesus and Still Feel Stuck | The Pursuit of Freedom Week 1

Can you genuinely love Jesus and still feel stuck? Yes—and admitting it isn’t failure. It may be where freedom begins.

In Week 1 of The Pursuit of Freedom, Pastor Clint Lamberth teaches from Luke 4:18–21, where Jesus announces that He came to set captives free. But some prisons don’t have bars. They can look like shame you can’t shake, fear that controls your decisions, anger, unforgiveness, unhealthy habits, a need for approval, or wounds caused by what someone else did to you.

Jesus didn’t come simply to make bad people behave. He came to rescue people who cannot rescue themselves.

    In this message, you’ll discover:

    • Why you can love Jesus and still struggle to live freely
    • How hidden chains can quietly control your life
    • Why willpower alone cannot produce lasting freedom
    • How honesty with God becomes the beginning of healing
    • Why Jesus—not better behavior—is the source of true freedom

Take a moment and ask yourself:

What have I been calling normal that Jesus may be calling captivity?

What’s still holding me back from living free?

  • When your comfort is out of control

What do you do when your emotions start calling the shots?

Jonah 4 gives us one of the strangest endings in the Bible—and maybe one of the most relatable. Jonah obeyed God, watched an entire city experience God’s mercy…and somehow ended up angry, miserable, and sitting outside the city wishing things had gone differently.

In the final week of our Jonah series, Pastor Clint looks at what Jonah’s story teaches us about anger, disappointment, comfort, obedience, and the danger of allowing our feelings to become our master.

We’ll discover that our emotions are real, but they don’t always tell us what is true. God can use both the things that comfort us and the things that disrupt us to change us. And even when our hearts wander from His, we are never more than one turn away from a gracious and compassionate God.

Ultimately, Jonah forces us to ask a bigger question: Do we only want the mercy of God for ourselves, or are we willing to join the mission of God for others?

Because God isn’t finished giving second chances—and every chance from God demands a choice from us.

  • God's not done with you

Ever wonder if you've used up all your chances with God?

Jonah heard God tell him to go one way, and he ran the other. But by chapter 3, something happens that changes everything: "the word of the LORD came to Jonah a second time." God didn't throw him away. God called him back.

In this message, Pastor Clint walks through Jonah 3 and the story of Nineveh's turnaround to show why God isn't just the God who calls you once and moves on when you mess up. He's the God of second chances, and He's still calling you back, no matter how far you've run or how many times you've messed up.

    In this one, you'll hear:

    • Why the thing that feels like a problem might actually be God's provision
    • The difference between believing in God and actually believing God
    • Why "get up and go" matters more than we like to admit
    • Why every chance God gives you comes with a choice only you can make

  • The miracle didn't look like a miracle

Some of the hardest moments in life don’t feel like God’s provision.

    They feel like punishment.

    A closed door.

    A diagnosis.

    A broken relationship.

    A season you never wanted.

A plan that completely fell apart.

That’s exactly where Jonah found himself. Swallowed by a great fish, alone in the darkness, wondering how his life had gone so wrong.

But what Jonah saw as a problem, God had provided as a rescue.

In this message, we discover why God doesn’t always give us what we want, but He always gives us what we need. We’ll learn why prayer matters when nothing seems to be changing, why praise often comes before the miracle, and how God’s timing is always better than our own.

If you’re in a season that wasn’t part of the plan, don’t lose heart.

God may be doing His greatest work in the place you least expected.

    Keep praying.

    Keep praising.

    He’s still working.

  • How Good Men Lose Ground

Most men don't wake up one day and decide to wreck their lives.

They don't plan to drift from God.

They don't plan to grow distant from their wife.

They don't plan to stop leading their family.

    It happens slowly.

    One distraction.

    One compromise.

    One excuse at a time.

In this Father's Day message, we look at one of the greatest threats facing men today: passivity.

Through the stories of Adam, Joshua, and the teachings of Scripture, we'll discover why spiritual drift is so dangerous, how the enemy often works through distraction instead of destruction, and what it means to wake up to the calling God has placed on our lives.

Because the issue for most men isn't a lack of information.

    It's a lack of action.

God hasn't called men to sit on the sidelines. He has called us to engage, to lead, to fight for what matters, and to become the men He created us to be.

The question is: Are you awake? Or are you drifting?

  • The cost of saying "NO" to God

Everyone wants to hear from God.

    We pray for direction.

    We ask for clarity.

We want to know His will for our lives.

But what happens when God tells us something we don’t want to hear?

That’s the tension at the heart of Jonah’s story.

When God called Jonah to go to Nineveh, Jonah ran in the opposite direction. Not because he didn’t hear God clearly, but because he didn’t like what God said.

And if we’re honest, we’ve all been there.

    Forgive that person.

    Take that step of faith.

    Serve.

    Give.

    Trust Him.

    Let it go.

In this message, we explore what happens when we resist God’s voice, rationalize our disobedience, and keep heading in the wrong direction. We’ll see how quickly compromise can become comfortable, how running from God always takes us farther than we intended to go, and why delayed obedience is still disobedience.

The good news is that even when we’ve run from God, He hasn’t run from us.

    He’s still speaking.

    He’s still pursuing.

And He’s still inviting us to trust Him.

The question is: What will you do when the Word of the Lord comes to you?

  • You're wearing the wrong thing

Some of us are carrying a weight that God never asked us to carry.

    Stress.

    Anxiety.

    Disappointment.

    Fear.

    Grief.

    Pressure.

We keep waiting for joy to show up, but what if joy isn’t something you find? What if it’s something you choose?

In this message, we explore Isaiah’s promise of the “garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness” and discover why praise is more than a song we sing. It’s a decision we make.

The Apostle Paul endured beatings, prison, shipwrecks, betrayal, and suffering most of us can hardly imagine—yet he still found a way to rejoice. How?

Because praise focuses on God’s faithfulness instead of our circumstances. It reminds us that what we’re walking through is temporary, but God’s Kingdom is eternal.

If life has felt heavy lately, if you’ve been stuck in worry, discouragement, or spiritual exhaustion, this message will challenge you to take a step that may feel unnatural but can lead to real freedom.

You may be wearing the wrong thing.

It’s time to put on praise.

  • It looked strong...until the storm came.

Some things look solid… until life gets hard.

    A relationship.

    A career.

    A family.

    A carefully managed image.

    Even faith.

But storms have a way of revealing what we’re really built on.

At the end of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus tells a story about two houses that looked exactly the same on the outside. Same storms. Same rain. Same wind.

    Only one remained standing.

The difference wasn’t what people could see.

    It was the foundation underneath.

In this message, we talk about what it actually means to build your life on Jesus—not just hearing His words, but living them out. Because a strong-looking life is not the same thing as a strong foundation.

And when the storm comes, what’s underneath will always be revealed.

    The good news?

Jesus wants to help you build something that lasts.

  • Your life is leaking

Most of us are chasing the same thing:

    • Security.
    • Stability.
    • Peace of mind.
    • The feeling that we finally have “enough.”

So we keep pouring ourselves into things we think will hold us together—money, success, relationships, possessions, status, comfort. But no matter how much we pour in… it never seems to stay full.

    Why?

Because we’re storing our treasure in things that leak.

In this message from the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus exposes the connection between our treasure, our worry, and our hearts. He shows us why anxiety keeps creeping in, why “just a little more” never satisfies, and what it looks like to finally trust God as our source instead of the things of this world.

Because what you seek first shapes your life.

And if your treasure is leaking… eventually your peace will too.
