IRS Reinstates $20,000 / 200-Transaction Threshold For Form 1099-K

The Internal Revenue Service on Oct. 23 issued a fact sheet confirming that the higher reporting threshold for Form 1099-K has been restored under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, reversing changes made during the Biden administration.

Form 1099-K applies to individuals who earn money through gig work or sell goods online. Third-party settlement organizations (TPSOs)—including platforms such as Amazon, eBay, PayPal, and Venmo – must send copies of the form to both the IRS and taxpayers, detailing the total payments received for goods and services.

Return to the Pre-2021 Standard

Before 2021, TPSOs were required to issue a Form 1099-K only if a seller received more than $20,000 and conducted at least 200 transactions during the year.

The 2021 American Rescue Plan Act lowered that threshold to $600, triggering widespread criticism from taxpayers and digital-payment platforms who warned the rule would swamp casual sellers with unnecessary paperwork.

The IRS initially attempted to phase in the lower limit—proposing $5,000 for 2024, $2,500 for 2025, and $600 from 2026 onward—but the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, signed by President Donald Trump on July 4, permanently repealed those reductions.

As a result, TPSOs are again only required to issue Form 1099-K if both of the following are true:

The number of transactions exceeds 200.

EU And UK Launch Digital War On America’s Tech Giants: Censorship As Trade Policy

London and Brussels are coordinating their attacks on US tech giants. Under the flimsy pretext of consumer protection, they are trying to lay the groundwork for far-reaching censorship designs through multi-billion-dollar fines.

When Germany’s Minister of State for Culture, Wolfram Weimer, delivered his verbal assault on American digital platforms last week, it got somewhat lost amid the waves of his own hypocrisy. As we now know, the minister does not think too highly of copyright rules or private property.

In reality, we are witnessing another escalation of invasive policies from centralized regulatory authorities in Brussels and London. Policies that the US government under President Donald Trump is unlikely to tolerate. Transatlantic tensions are rising. The next act of the trade dispute will unfold on precisely this digital battlefield and continue to intensify.

Perhaps this is the perfect moment for Donald Trump to slap London and Brussels on the fingers. A drastic increase in tariffs might give some of them pause and put pressure on policymakers to stop playing dangerous censorship games.

Trump issues chilling warning to Putin after Russia tests new ‘invincible’ nuclear missile

President Trump issued a chilling warning to Vladimir Putin Monday after the Russian tyrant boasted about testing his country’s new “invincible” nuclear missile.

“They know we have a nuclear submarine, the greatest in the world, right off their shore,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on Monday as he prepared to travel to Japan.

He was speaking after Putin on Sunday hailed an 8,700-mile, 15-hour test flight for Russia’s “unique” nuclear-powered missile, dubbed a “flying Chernobyl,” which the country says could strike targets in the US.

The Burevestnik missile is a “unique product, unlike anything else in the world,” Putin — dressed in military fatigues — claimed on Sunday in remarks reported by Russian state media.

“We need to identify potential uses and begin preparing the infrastructure for deploying this weapon in our armed forces,” he added.

President Trump was not impressed by Russia’s saber-rattling.”We test missiles all the time, but you know, we do have a submarine, a nuclear submarine. We don’t need to go 8,000 miles,” he said.

“They’re not playing games with us. We’re not playing games with them either,” President Trump continued, before repeating his demand that Putin end the war in Ukraine.

“I don’t think it’s an appropriate thing for Putin to be saying. By the way, he ought to get the war ended. A war that should have taken one week is now in its, soon, fourth year. That’s what he ought to do instead of testing missiles,” Trump said.

The Burevestnik, known by NATO as the SSC-X-9 Skyfall, is a ground-launched nuclear-powered cruise missile that Russia’s military claims is able to evade Western air defenses.

Due to running on nuclear power, it is able to cover far greater distances than conventional missiles, according to the Kremlin.

There is no remedy for Trump to serve a 3rd term in the consitution, even if the SC rules they would go against the 22 amendment.

The VP trick is just that a trick, almost like trump becoming the speaker of the house. the only way to allow trump to be president again is to remove the 22 amendment after the midterms.

Federal Food Stamp Benefits Set to Expire with Ongoing Shutdown for 42 million Recipients

WASHINGTON – More than 40 million low-income food stamp beneficiaries are expected to receive less help with grocery bills — or no help at all — in the coming days.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is threatening to withhold billions of dollars in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) contingency funding, which Congress has already allocated for emergency scenarios, if the government shutdown stretches into November.

There is between $5 billion and $6 billion currently in that fund, experts say. That’s not enough to cover the estimated $8 billion in SNAP benefits due out next month, but it would allow for partial payments to help low-income Americans defray food costs.

On Friday, however, USDA released guidance saying it won’t use those funds to cover SNAP benefits if the government shutdown extends beyond Oct. 31 — a move that appears designed to maximize the pressure on Senate Democrats to support a GOP spending bill to reopen the government.

In a memo, first reported by Axios, the USDA said the reason is simple: The contingency fund was designed to respond to unforeseen events, like natural disasters, and the current shutdown doesn’t qualify because it was manufactured by Democrats. To spend the money on SNAP benefits during such an event, the USDA argues, would be illegal. (read more)

I’m all for government helping people who genuinely are unable to help themselves, but something is terribly, terribly wrong when one half of the nation is responsible for supporting the basic needs of the other half. Worse, this is how Democrats maintain power, i.e., free stuff in exchange for votes. But here is the even crazier thing. It’s the DEMOCRATS who have shut down the government and cut off the flow of free stuff to their most important constituents. Makes no sense, right? But it does make sense. I’ll tell you why. Even with all the “free” stuff, Democrats are losing voters. The 2024 election showed this: record numbers of blacks, Latinos, young males and other traditionally Democrat voters switched sides. So the Democrats’ solution is to get MORE new voters dependent on free stuff—i.e., illegal alien voters. THAT is why they are willing to shut down the government and screw over their traditional base. It’s more important that they get free medical care and other free stuff for illegal aliens so they can stay in power. The Democrats’ rhetoric makes all of this non-obvious, and there are more unspoken steps to the process like amnesty for illegals, but I assure you what I say is the gospel truth.
