If you are involved in a contract dispute or any other type of litigation matter, you probably want to get the matter disposed of as quickly and inexpensively as possible. The popular wisdom among lawyers is that Arbitration accomplishes this goal better than litigation. The primary reasoning is that arbitrating a dispute often decreases the legal expenses and the process typically moves quicker. Is this always the case? In this Episode, I speak with Efemena Iluezi-Ogbaudu, Former lecturer at the Nigerian Law school, Lagos campus and member of the dispute resolution practice group at Strachan Partners, about all the ways that an arbitration can go wrong and steps you must take to protect the interests of your client. There is a follow up to this Episode, an interview with Olukayode Olugbemi, Associate at UUBO.
