This week on OBS Obsessed I'm talking about some use cases for OBS Studio for podcasters and podcasting.

I realise there's a bit of sensitivity around the definition of "podcasting" is in 2025, whether to do video or not, and I don't really intend to get into that...

What I do want to give you, though, is some tools to add to your toolbox that can reach for whenever you feel they are appropriate.

Let's talk about:

• Recording your own side of a conversation or interview (video and audio, or just audio) for content, clips and repurposing
• Changing how you show up on webcam to incorporate some of your podcast's branding and calls to action
• Working with a virtual camera that doesn't necessarily have to feature you on camera (image overlays, audio visualizers and other things)
• and more!

OBS Studio gives you a variety of audio, video and effect filters you can apply to various sources. And you might even have a few extra if you've installed certain plugins.

Filters can do things like:

• Remove green screens, blue screens and backgrounds;
• Adjust brightness and contrast;
• Adjust your audio settings with things like compression, noise suppression, limiters and more;
• Scroll effects, and much more!

• Aitum Vertical: Which gives you a second canvas that you can use for Vertical streaming or recording or both.
