  • Observed Tech PODCAST – The Final Episode #OTP
After nearly 10 years, 317 shows, almost 230 hours of me talking, and who knows how many headlines and tech stories that were talked about, I have decided to end the Observed Tech PODCAST. More details in this final episode, but my sincere thanks to the more than a quarter million listeners who have tuned in over the course of the shows lifetime. Thank you so very much!

This week we delayed recording the show until after Microsoft's big Xbox E3 Media Briefing was held yesterday afternoon. So this show has a lot of stuff related to those announcements from Los Angeles, That gets us caught up with the new game pass options for both console and PC, upcoming games, hardware, and streaming technology plus lots of other gaming related items such as project Scarlett and Project xCloud. Of course, I still catch you up on the latest for Windows Insiders and where we stand with the continued development of the 20H1 feature update for next year and the wait for the first bits of 19H2 for this fall. Scattered throughout the show I have some of the details about Apple's WWDC 2019 announcements, browser updates, and a little low earth orbit news from NASA.

  • Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 314 #OTP
This week I share about my recent office reorganization and the resulting tech purge that it has resulted in as I start to clear out old technology and e-cycle it. We catch up on a slow week for Windows Insiders and discuss the potential release of the first 19H2 bits to testers. Then we discuss COMPUTEX and Microsoft's interesting announcement about a modern operating system right in the middle of them sharing about new OEM hardware running Windows 10. Of course, spread throughout the show we talk about other things like the changes around the Universal Windows Platform (UWP) and why some believe it is dead, tons of updates around apps and services, plus tidbits about gaming, security, and social media. As always enjoy the show and thanks again for listening!

Following a long holiday weekend here in the United States, we catch you up on all the details for the general availability of the Windows 10 May 2019 Update, aka Version 1903, which began last week. Included among those details are key blog posts you will need as you prepare for its arrival whether you are on the consumer or business front. In addition, I catch us up once again on where Windows Insider builds are and how I believe they will play out over the next weeks and months now that the May 2019 Update has begun its roll out. I share some of the interesting news from last week's SharePoint Conference plus hardware announcements from COMPUTEX 2019 that began in Taiwan over this past weekend. Of course, you will find our normal mix of information and headlines from apps, services, gaming, social media, and the latest tidbits around rockets and space.

  • Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 312 #OTP
This week we have our normal collection of updates for Windows Insiders with the latest builds and progress across a couple of development branches for Windows 10 and Microsoft Edge (Chromium). However, I begin with an explanation of the final state of my link curation process to avoid Twitter's aggressive algorithms plus I get on my soapbox about headlines and misdirection with one privacy related story I read this week. After that it is our normal weekly run down of updates around apps, services, security, hardware, social media, and gaming. At the end of it all I mention a couple of space items that you should be aware of as the next five years are going to be crazy as NASA heads back to the moon! Make sure you listen from start to finish to catch all the headlines.

  • Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 310 #OTP
This show is full of Microsoft and Windows news as you would expect. There is Microsoft's latest quarterly earnings report which was very good, updates on Microsoft Edge Chromium work, and even a Windows Insider build for Fast Ring testers for the 20H1 feature update. We also learned more about system requirements for the Windows 10 May 2019 Update, discuss the status of Sets, and Surface Hub 2S plus the potential for Surface Buds and a Surface Display. Of course, Xbox Insiders got several new builds and there was that inadvertent announcement/confirmation of the Sea of Thieves Anniversary Update. Don't forget to listen from start to finish so you catch all the tidbits through the show.

  • Observed Tech PODCAST Episode 309 #OTP
This week there was a lot happening in the Microsoft tech world. First, we had the public release of the Microsoft Edge Developer and Canary builds of the company's new Chromium-based browser on Monday. A couple of hours later they then opened up the Windows Insiders Release Preview ring with Build 18362 of the May 2019 Update aka 19H1. Then mid-week, they merged the Skip Ahead 20H1 ring back to the Fast Ring and made Build 18875 available for testers. Pretty much exactly as we predicted and discussed during last week's show.

What an absolutely eye opening and jaw dropping week. I kick the show off talking about my return from Twitter Exile and then we dive into what might be the biggest news in the history of Windows 10 and discuss what it all means for Windows Insiders and everyday users of Microsoft's latest operating system. Of course, there are plenty of other headlines this week that I will mention and share with you from social media, software, apps and services, plus various items from many other areas of the tech scene. Yes - there is a little space news in the wrap up as well. Please be sure to listen from beginning to end for everything.

Welcome to the Twitterless episode of the show. Yeah, it has happened again and I explain what I think caused this one and some changes I have planned when (if) the account is restored. Of course there was news around Windows Insider builds and solid indications that we are indeed in the final stages of 19H1's development so we also get caught up on all of that and the tech news of the week from across all of the normal resources.
