I return to the place where this series began - GK 1's M Block Market. It's my second attempt at using a POV camera setup to show you glimpse of what I see. This time, I use a portrait orientation, with the camera tilted relatively upwards to capture more vertical features.

When mobile mapping in IP Extension and Mandawali, I run into some unexpected situations - some negative and some positive.

I step back home for another armchair mapping session in JOSM. Instead of live commentary, I opted to use post-commentary this time - I hope this improve the quality of commentary, since I'm now able to talk even as I edit.

Phew, this one took an age to prepare!

For the POV video, I mounted my old Nokia 6.1 phone to this chest mount -

The phone's camera and battery life aren't the best. But we finally get a view of my surroundings outside of the map.

Composing the two videos was not difficult, but then I spent many, many hours trying to blur the faces. First with Kdenlive's Face Blur plugin. Then with the Motion Tracking plugin. Then manually using Alpha Shapes (Mask) - which worked, but took hours of painstaking effort to cover just 30 seconds of video. Finally, I tried the deface utility, which had too many false negatives with the default -t 0.2 and too many false positives with -t 0.1.

Eventually, I gave up on blurring faces. I have been assured that it's not a violation of privacy, as long as I'm recording in a public space and not slandering anyone.

This is also the first video with chapters for easier browsing. It probably won't work on PeerTube (it's in this year's roadmap), but maybe in NewPipe, PipePipe, Thorium, and/or mpv?

Sound quality isn't great, despite my best efforts. Thinking of using post-commentary instead of live for future outdoor videos.

This is my first attempt at making a video of myself contributing to OpenStreetMap. It's inspired by TigerFrost (a creator of Let's Plays on YouTube), in that it's largely uncut and unedited. You get the full experience.

Yes, the commentary in this one is rushed and unclear in terms of diction...I'll try to improve it in future episodes.
