Advent is a season of preparation and anticipation. We are reminded of that in today’s gospel reading as we hear about Mary and the visit from the angel Gabriel. I find there are a whole lot of things that occupy my life as I prepare for Christmas. When asked if I’m ready for Christmas, I don’t think that people are asking me about Jesus, but instead about gifts, decorating, baking and entertaining. Mary was occupied with Jesus. What about you and me?
