A standby private ambulance at Sligo University Hospital has cost the HSE over €300,000 for just four months.

The vehicle is used for patient transfers between Sligo University Hospital and the Satellite ward on the St. Johns campus.

The incident which happened in recent weeks left the south Leitrim area without ambulance cover during that time frame.
