No social housing developments are planned for Enniscrone in the near future.

The details were revealed during an update on Sligo County Councils Housing Delivery Action Plan.

Cllr Michael Clarke has claimed that some local people are living in cars and caravans due to the ongoing housing crisis in the area.

He has been expressing his disappointment that the seaside village is not being prioritised:

The HSE is being asked to outline future plans for the former Primary Care Centre in Cliffoney.

The building has been lying idle for some time and there are concerns locally that it will fall into a serious state of disrepair.

It's thought that if the HSE has no immediate plans, the building should be made available for community use and additional parking for the adjacent primary school.

Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council and Fianna Fail Cllr Donal Gilroy says there are already safety concerns in the area, owing to school drop offs and this he feels would be a solution:

The proposal by Belfast International Watersports Ltd includes seven indoor and three outdoor courts, along with changing facilities, offices, and new signage.

Plans for a new fire station in Glencolmcille are set to move forward following the amalgamation of Ballyshannon and Bundoran stations, with a new state-of-the-art facility to be built in Finner.

Glencolmcille is among the last remaining fire stations in Donegal yet to be upgraded since it was first constructed decades ago.

Donegal County Council has now included the Glencolmcille project in its 2025-2030 Capital Plan, securing its place alongside the new Finner station.

Sligo Leitrim TD Deputy Eamon Scanlon says under the proposed changes builders will be able to develop wastewater units.

Uisce Éireann will set the standards for the treatment plants and they will take ownership of them once they are built and approved by the Environmental Protection Agency.

Questions are being asked over when the new ambulance and training base will be established in Sligo.

The proposed facility was given the green light a year ago with a site earmarked at Maugheraboy on the outskirts of Sligo town.

It had been set to go to design stage in early 2025 and now attentions are turning to when a design and planning application will be forthcoming.
