Today marks World Suicide Prevention Day, Pieta is urging communities across the northwest to speak out and prioritise suicide prevention on a national level through it's no more silence campaign.
Pieta is drawing attention to a growing concern, as one in three people who seek its support are children and teenagers, many of them still in school.
In the past year, the organisation delivered more than 17,800 hours of free therapy to over 2,400 young people under the age of 18.
Speaking to Ocean FM, Pieta's Communications Manager Matthew Oakes encouraged people in the northwest to stand behind the No More Silence campaign and help ensure suicide prevention becomes a national priority.
