Jeremy Muchilwa is a 14-year-old Ocean Hero from Kisumu, Kenya. He is the co-founder of Bring Back Lake Victoria, a campaign to eradicate plastic pollution in Lake Victoria. He is passionate about using technology to restore Lake Victoria to its pristine condition, intelligent, solutions-oriented, generous, patient, congenial, persistent, flexible, adventurous, and altruistic with a sense of humour. His interests lie in technology, coding, programming, Game Design, animals, 3D design, adventure, gaming, how computers are built up, AI and innovation.

This week's episode features Michelle & Jeremy. 

Michelle is a 16-year-old Ocean Hero, Conrad Challenge Innovator and Technovation Regional Winner from Kisumu, Kenya. After participating in the Ocean Heroes virtual Boot-camp 2020, Michelle and her brother, Jeremy, decided that they wanted to embark on a journey to restore Lake Victoria, starting by eradicating plastic pollution. They started Osiepe Sango (Friends of Lake Victoria), an organization working towards restoring Lake Victoria to its pristine condition through the Bring Back Lake Victoria campaign. Her campaign has managed to not only start a conversation on plastic pollution in the Lake Victoria Basin but also mobilize people around East Africa and the world to restore Lake Victoria. She and her brother are now building an app to collect data on plastic pollution in the Lake Basin. She is passionate about finding ways for developing countries to grow their economies without obliterating their natural resources.

This week's episode features Sean Russell. For the past decade, Sean Russell has worked with international non-profits, corporations, and government agencies to elevate the role of youth leadership in environmental conservation. As EarthEcho International’s Associate Director of Youth Engagement & Partnerships, he leads the development and implementation of EarthEcho programs focused on building a global youth movement to protect and restore our ocean planet. In addition to his work with EarthEcho, Sean is the Founder and Director of the Youth Ocean Conservation Summit, a series of events equipping youth with the knowledge, tools, and funds to launch solutions-oriented ocean conservation projects in their local communities.

This week's episode features  Chelsea Williams, a 17-year-old high school senior in Kingston, Jamaica. For as long as she can remember she has been passionate about environmental and social justice. Chelsea was able to really dive deep into environmental conservation after becoming a squad leader for the first-ever regional Caribbean Ocean Heroes Bootcamp. Since then, Chelsea co-founded Cleanup Our Act with a group of young people in Jamaica, aiming to spread awareness about environmental issues in Jamaica and around the world by hosting different projects aimed at saving the environment.

This week's episode features Lakshika! Usually seen running around with bundles of papers twice her size, Lakshika is a 17-year-old activist volunteering with multiple organizations and also directing her own projects. Her journey started off at Ocean Heroes Bootcamp 2019, where she found herself captivated by the cause and has not stopped since. In possession of an occasional work ethic, she advocates for the Earth. Spoken at various international platforms and councils, her ways with postulates verbalize her thoughts celestially.

This week's episode features Nicola Tsiolis, a 19-year-old Cypriot-Australian student with a burning passion for the ocean. Since the age of seven, she has aspired to become a Marine Biologist and work within the ocean; learning, discovering, protecting and conserving the abundant, extraordinary life that lives within the ocean’s depths. After being exposed to and growing up around Australia’s beautiful beaches and surf culture, her holistic passion and love for the ocean runs through her veins. Nicola aims to continue this journey of learning about and understanding environmental conservation through studying a Bachelor of Marine Science at Deakin University. Her passion and ambition for environmental activism and conservation is the driving force behind her active involvement in all things related to the ocean. As an Ocean Youth Ambassador (Sea Life Trust) 2019 alumni, Nicola has founded Sea Change Network.

This week's episode features Chanté Davis, a 17-year-old climate organizer and ocean advocate. Chanté is a member of the Sunrise Movement, a youth-led political climate change organization and has participated in both national and local demonstrations, including the President’s Day teach-in at the nation’s Capitol building. She is also the founder of the One Oysean campaign that will be launching later this year to combat negative stigmas surrounding BIPOC in the environmental movement.

This week's episode features Madison Toonder, a rising junior at Vanderbilt University with a primary major in Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology and a secondary major in Biological Anthropology (Environment, Landscape) on a pre-veterinary track. She spends her summers in south Florida to engage in fieldwork and data collection as a Sea Turtle Night Technician. At age 18, Madison published her sea turtle research as primary author in the peer-reviewed Journal of Zoo and Wildlife Medicine. She was also recognized as the youngest presenter in the 67-year history of the International Wildlife Disease Association Conference and served as a Sea Youth Rise Up delegate in Washington DC where she met with political leaders and led the World Ocean’s Day march. Currently, she is a member of the Earth Echo International Youth Leadership Council and coordinates large-scale events targeted toward schools across the nation.
