Eight One Sixty

October Socially Distanced Shows

Listen Later

On this week's episode of the Eight One Sixty, it’s all about safe and socially distanced shows happening in October. Before we get into that, we’ll take a moment to remember long-time KC musician Steve Phillips. Steve passed away last week, and was a force in the Kansas City music community and beyond — having been in projects like The Rainmakers and The Elders. We’ll play some music from The Elders and share a couple stories to honor Steve.

After that, we’ll talk about upcoming shows and hear music from these bands:

  • Calvin Arsenia at The Sound of Kansas City · Sunday, Oct. 18 at Liberty Memorial
  • The Get Up Kids at Lemonade Park · Saturday, Oct. 10
  • The Republic Tigers at Lemonade Park · Saturday, Oct. 24

Dreamgirl at Lemonade Park · Friday, Oct. 23

They Call Me Sauce of Nublvckcity at Lemonade Park · Saturday, Oct. 17

True Lions at Lemonade Park · Friday, Oct. 9

Miguel Antonio at Old Shawnee Pizza & Craft Cocktails - Lenexa patio · Saturday, October 10

Heartfelt Anarchy featuring Les Izmore of Arquesta Del SolSoul at Lemonade Park · Saturday, Oct. 17

Hembree featuring Garrett Childers, at Buffalo State Pizza Co. & Bar · Friday, Oct. 9

The Way Way Back, playing as part of Save the Rino Fundraiser and Telethon — a 12-hour livestream all day Saturday, Oct. 10

On the show, we’ll remind you that cooler weather is coming, and if you don’t make it to a show before the weather turns, it could be a very long time before your next outdoor show - so consider checking out one of these socially distanced concerts.
