This episode features Joe Morrison and Paul Andry, alumni of the OMLC (Secondary Music) course at OELC in the summer of 1980. They were kind enough to share their reflections and recollections about OELC/OMLC, and their "brother/sister" cabin group (24 members in all) who have stayed in touch for over 40 years!

This episode focuses on Nathan's interview with Mary Macdonald. Mary Macdonald represented Canada in both basketball and volleyball. She played in three Pan Am Games and won three Sr. A national titles in basketball. As a high school teacher and coach at John Oliver secondary she developed several teams, coaching a number of players who went on to play volleyball for Canada at the 1976 Olympics. Mary also was a torch bearer for the Pan am games, and is one of the stars of the documentary "The Oldest Basketball Team in the Worlds". She taught at OELC in the late 1950's and early 1960's.

Tyler Boyle is a professional hype guy, dance entertainer, professional host/emcee, speaker, educator and visual artist. He also occasionally works at OELC/CASO!
Since 2012, Tyler has been working with various cultural festivals, The Rogers Center, Blue Mountain Village, The Canadian Cancer Society, the Special Olympics and the Heart and Stroke Foundation enlivening their events with his interactive Groove dance experiences. For years Tyler was the host of the local chapter of the popular show, Dragon's Den. In 2017 Tyler was invited to speak at TEDx Collingwood where he presented an interactive talk entitled, 'Mindful Metacognition'. In 2018, he was invited back again to co-host.
As a local elementary school teacher, Tyler is a recipient of the 2020 Prime Minister’s Award of Teaching Excellence and the 2020 Elementary Teacher's Federation of Ontario's Award for Local Humanitarian. Additionally, Tyler is an EDGEucator and resource consultant for a progressive education company called Moving EDGEucation.
Tyler's current projects include expanding his visual art exploration in Spirit Art, releasing a book as an extension of his TEDx talk, as well as growing Dreamwalkers Meditations - easily accessible meditations for youth in schools.

Ann Hall, BPHE, MA, PhD is a self-described "sports-nut". Her teaching and research interests focused primarily on the sociological aspects of sport, more specifically gender relations in sport and leisure. Since retiring from the University of Alberta, she has been researching and writing about Canadian women’s sport history.
In this episode she shares with us her research on the OELC before 1948 and the important contributions of Gord Wright and Helen Gurney in those early days. She also discusses OELC's transition from a male-only camp to more inclusive program.

People who have been to OELC talk about it as a transformative experience. OELC Course Directors Laura Christie, Chris Wilson, Revlon Stoddart and Karen Parnell discuss returning to "in person" programming in 2022 and the qualities of the OELC experience that make people continue to talk about it - 5, 10 and 20 years later.

This episode features Nathan's interview with Kathleen Wynne, who attended OELC as a leader in 1969. She shares her perspective on her time at OELC, its impact on her career and the challenges OELC is facing in 2021.
Kathleen Wynne was first elected to the Ontario legislature in 2003 as the MPP for Don Valley West. She was Ontario’s 25th Premier and leader of the Ontario Liberal Party January, 2013 to June 2018.
Kathleen has dedicated her professional life to building a better province for the people of Ontario. She is guided by the values and principles that knit this province together: fairness, diversity, collaboration and creativity.

Peter Chang, Superintendent of Education, TDSB and OELC Alumni shares his perspective on his time at OELC. Peter shares the impact OELC had on his development as a leader, and the unique experience of being an East Asian student leader in the early 1980s. He goes on to share his views on the importance of the OELC program for students, and how his suggestions on how to continue to foster an anti-racist, equitable course.
