The Table Winnipeg

Of Babies, Bathwater and Russians

Listen Later

Hey folks – this week I want to invite the old-timey idiom “Don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater” to guide us into a renewed consideration of the ways in which we might continue to hold complicated positions in a world bent on “either/or” rhetoric and posturing. This is, among other things, one of the best sorts of exercise for the muscles that we use when we want to breathe the air of what we might call “spirit”; the oxygen of mystery, the life-sustaining intake of what we may use “god-language” for. This Sunday, we’ll explore why that is.

This will be an on-line gathering. We’ll meet here at 10:45 a.m. for music and Community Time, followed by the Talky Bit. Or should I say, the Tim Bit? (If you caught our online gathering or podcast from last week, that’ll make sense. Otherwise, no so much. You can find the podcast here.) Our gathering will be followed by ALA at 12:30, and later on Wednesday evening by TWEZH at 7:45 p.m. I’ll include the URL’s for those zoom gatherings at the bottom of this email.
Next week, April 3rd, is slated to be an in-person gathering at the Plett house. We’ll livestream as always, and are very much looking forward to having folks back in our home again. It’s been waaaayyy to long.

Our schedule going forward still has a couple of little wrinkles to iron out, but watch this space for details about a mix of on-line and in-person gatherings as we get it sorted.

In the meantime, I’ll see you on Sunday.

Peace,
Tim Plett
