You may have heard of these guy as they have been around since 1981 and their first recording coming out in 1988, the year Jigs & Reels 1.0 started and I still have the cassette too. They still perform and are one of many pioneers in Newfoundland Country music I'd say. Laying the ground work for the new musicians coming out today. I'm talking about Newfie Fever. I'll be talking to Cyril Engram about the past, present and future of Newfie Fever.

You're going to hear brand new music from her 3rd album, the baygirl herself, Asetha Power - Country Eastern, a song that was recorded originally by Billy Joe Shaver but being done by Randy Matthews. This week, we get to talk with Bob Muggeridge and how he got his start in the music business. You may not have heard of him but Bob’s been around a while. Playing at places like the Battery Cafe and more. we’ll be playing some tracks from his CD and talk about his connection to the late Gordon Lightfoot.

Also, Selina Boland has a new album coming out June 2nd and you’ve heard me play a track already, but I’m gonna play another one to tease you more and hope you get on it to get her album and follow her on all platforms. Watch this singer songwriters stock increase after this new album release and you heard another new track first on this show. I could not be more honored to do so.

This takes place on June 10 at the store in Brampton, so block that day or a portion of the day off and come out and say hi. There will be a time this week, as I'll be talking about one hell of a performance from the Derina Harvey Band in Fergus Friday night. Also the tasty Jiggs dinner we had at O'Brien's in Cambridge while catching the matinee of The Mighty Ship.

I will be talking to singer/songwriter, children's book author, the multi talented Courtney Wicks. Her new album is set to be released very soon and I'll talk to her about that and of course many other things that'll get you known with her and to follow her too.

Ok so, you all know how I do the New Music Monday segment? This week will be a first. A true first as I will play a song , from a 10 year old. Hailey Muggeridge released her first-ever original song recently at this young age and am so excited to play it for you all tonight. The family is talented starting with her poppy Bob Muggeridge and goes from there.

There are also a few more tracks that I'll be featuring tonight in the segment too. So again, another wicked New Music Monday.

Most of you know that the line up was announced last Friday for the upcoming George Street festival, which btw we will be there. So on this weeks show, I'll be talking to Don Coady, the Brand Manager of the festival. Will let you know about tickets
