Hello Friends!  This episode we’re talking Chicago bookstores! Independent bookstores are my favorite type of Chicago business, and of course I’ve been concerned about their ability to do business throughout this quarantine period, so I’m talking a few of my favorite independent bookstores, and giving you info so that you can support them.  Or, if you’re not in Chicago, definitely support the independent bookstores in your neck of the woods.

Hello Friends!  This episode is the continuation of the conversation I (@Dionsmusica) had with Cris Rodriguez (@grlnxdr2513) back in February.  Cris is a former EMT, currently working in a hospital in the Chicagoland area. Chicago has an amazingly active and vibrant Brazilian Jiu Jitsu community, that even includes stars at the pinnacle of the Mixed Martial Arts activity. I haven't yet had the opportunity to talk about Chicago Jiu Jitsu for any length of time with previous guests, so I was intrigued to hear about Cris' BJJ journey, as well as her perceptive on the activity and sport as a female in a male dominated culture. Cris was vibrant and forthcoming, and offered tons of insight.  Check it out!!!

Hello Friends!  I'm sure it's hard to accurately express all of the feelings we're all experiencing right now.  However, I have no doubt that if we come together, keep our heads up, and stay positive, we can see this through with the grace and dignity that we know we're capable of.  It was in this vein that I decided to reach out to Mary Catherine Roberson, former political candidate, activist, mother of 3, and government worker about the new normal as we come to the close of our first week of mass COVID-19 quarantines. Thank you to Mary Catherine for being so delightful as well.  Enjoy!!!

Hello Friends!  This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending the Chicago Comics Convention & Entertainment Expo, popularly known as C2E2 (@C2e2).  I had an absolutely amazing time!  I met so many new people, made some new friends, saw some old ones...man, I can't even say enough good things about the time I had.  I felt like a kid again.  Also, in this episode, I had the opportunity to talk with David of The Euphoric Tree Fort Gift Company (@euphorictreefort on IG), Francis Almeda (@almedagrill), owner of Reppin Pins (@Reppinpins), and comics writer Kenny Porter (@KenBlakePorter), so be sure not to miss those conversations.  All music in this episode is courtesy of and licensed by Epidemic Sound (@epidemicsound).

Hello Friends!  This week I had the pleasure to sit and chat with Cris Rodriguez (@grlnxdr2513).  Cris is a former EMT, currently working in a hospital in the Chicagoland area. Valentine's Day has just passed, and I reached out on social media for anyone who was interested in talking about the St. Valentine's Day Massacre, and Cris answered the call.  She'd been watching the docuseries Making The Mob: Chicago and was totally excited at the prospect of talking mobsters and murder. While getting there, we touch on a bunch of other topics.  Also, I lost a chunk of the audio in the recording process, but the episode turned out great.  Also, there is a treat at the end of the episode, so don't miss that.
