The Hate U Give, Halloween, and First Man are all phenomenal in their own ways – a pretty darn good weekend at the movies for sure. 

Kyle and Erik react to Bad Times at the El Royale then fawn over the original Halloween after returning to it in anticipation of the new one. 

Codi catches an early showing of Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween, Disney debuts the bafflingly misguided Aladdin teaser trailer during a football game, and even the might of Damian Chazelle and America's mission to the moon isn't enough to dethrone the delightfully misunderstood Venom. 

Spoilerific deep dives on Venom and A Star Is Born pick apart what makes each one so enjoyable, and Warner Bros. snatches up James Gunn so he can work his magic on their ragtag group of misfits with superpowers franchise. 

A Star Is Born may not take the weekend, but its taking a lot more hearts than Venom, two out of three of us submit themselves fully to the five minute long Aquaman trailer, and who would've thought a movie about Dick Cheney would be one of the most anticipated films...

Venom and A Star Is Born are gearing up for their weekend face-off, Twitter "first-reactions" are an unavoidable nuisance, and we sort tangent off and create the first part of an upcoming Best/Worst of Disney debate. 

Trailers for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Bumblebee, Dark Phoenix, and Creed II all impress in different ways, Kingsman is becoming a trilogy (and probably a lot more), and the 007 series gets its first ever American butt in the director's chair. 

The House With a Clock in Its Walls is a delightful Amblin adventure, IMAX thinks it could play Netflix movies on the big screen, and going to the movies as a first date will always be a beautiful thing. 

Trailers for Captain Marvel, Mary Poppins Returns, The Grinch, Beautiful Boy, and The Girl in the Spider's Web all dropped this week (all compiled here), so naturally we had to speculate about the quality of the final products. 

The Predator is a messy but ultimately enjoyable film, Mandy is impossible to describe with words, and the future of continuing 80s/90s action staples is murky.
