  • Buneke's Own Mary Brotherton joins Us Tonight
After years of writing and editing for other's, seeing my name on their mastheads, I took a break in 2012 to become my mother's caregiver. When she crossed over two years later, I thought I could step back into the same path I'd walked for much of my career. Life threw me a curve. In 2018, I joined other professionals to create PEACECORE, Inc. We do business at bUneke Magazine (be unique) and provide a free, educational publication that highlights people doing amazing things to make our world better. PEACECORE is an acronym. To discover what it means, please visit buneke.org and while you're there, check out the other products and services our charity offers. I still write and edit as a freelancer, as time permits. bUneke is my passion and if you want to be a part of the movement, we welcome you to join us!

  • Author Neil Riebe Pays Us a visit
Neil Riebe has been a lifelong fan of Japanese giant monsters since seeing King Kong vs Godzilla back in the 70s. The three-part story Godzilla vs Atragon, published in G-Fan issues #9 through #11, inspired him to write his multi-part Godzilla stories. These stories included Godzilla vs Super Allosaurus, published in G-Fan issues #15 through #17, Battle of Manazura Island, published in G-Fan #25, and Rodana, published in G-Fan #42. After Toho asked G-Fan to cease publishing fan fiction based on their characters, Neil posted subsequent stories on Fan Fiction.net. While writing kaiju fan fiction, he also wrote an article for Japanese Giants #10 and the forewords to Gfantis vs Guest Monsters anthology and John LeMay’s The Big Book of Japanese Giant Monster Movies Vol. 1: 1954-1982. Matt Dennion, author of the popular Atomic Rex novels, invited Neil to contribute a short story to his Attack of the Kaiju anthology (in 2016). Since then Neil has switched from kaiju fan fiction to writing original kaiju stories.

  • Our Friend Bill Abernathy Sits Down with Us
“Imagine yourself in a small mining town on January 29th, 1958. You’re in a condemned hospital where a mother is giving birth to her 4th child while her husband, covered in coal dust from the mines, paces the waiting room. This is the beginning of my story. From that condemned hospital, through many changes and challenges, to having my songs played all over the world, this is my story. “Change always teaches us to be everything we’re destined to be”. We don’t always know what life will bring, what dreams will become reality, what dreams will crash and burn, but one thing is certain. Change is either our friend or our enemy, we choose which.” - Bill Abernathy
