What will the factory of the future look like? In this episode, Dashi and Eray talk with Marc Schwerdtner, plant manager at Siemens in Zug, about innovation, automation, and artificial intelligence. Using the new production line as an example, Marc shows how digital twins, millions of data points, and AI are transforming manufacturing. The discussion also touches on the changes brought about by new technologies – and why, despite all the innovation, one thing matters above all else: bringing people along for the ride.
What does a 30-year-old wafer have to do with the changes at Siemens? In this episode, Dashi and Eray talk with Gerd Scheller about his personal learning journey, change, and the opportunities it holds. How do you deal with uncertainty and an ever-increasing pace? What role does leadership play in this – and why is curiosity sometimes more important than the perfect answer?
Dashi and Eray are back with the third season of the podcast «Off The Record». The big topic is Artificial Intelligence. AI is everywhere, but what does that actually mean? SiemensGPT, AI agents, Copilot, industrial AI, the AI community… With so many terms, are we losing sight of the big picture? Together with their guest Ives Huwiler, who manages the AI community at Siemens Switzerland, among other things, they make sense of it all and ask themselves: Is AI optional, and is there even a need for us anymore?
In the season finale, Dashi and Eray review the seven episodes of the second season. They not only talk about their highlights, but also hear from Siemens CEO Roland Busch about how he perceives Siemens in Switzerland as ONE Tech Company. Make sure to listen to the end!
After 19 episodes of «Off The Record», Dashi and Eray would like to know what you think of the podcast. Please take a moment to give them your feedback. Thank you very much!

In this episode, Dashi and Eray talk to Sven Meierhofer, Head of Operations at Smart Infrastructure. Sven candidly discusses a bold experiment in his department. Inspired by the principle of «Collaborative Leadership», his team wanted to try out what it would be like to dismantle traditional hierarchical structures and distribute responsibility among several team leaders. The experiment initially looked promising, but it soon became clear what wasn't working, and the experiment had to be abandoned after 18 months. Sven openly describes how he experienced this setback and explains why he would be willing to try the experiment again at any time.
The crisis is overcome! In this episode, previous guests took the opportunity to pay Dashi and Eray back. They selected three surprise guests who visit the two hosts in the podcast studio. Dashi and Eray have absolutely no idea who the guests are or what they will talk about.
Everything new, everything different. The plan was to record the episode «The Raid», but sometimes things turn out differently than planned: Dashi and Eray are in the midst of a crisis and do a reality check. The new episode thus becomes a self-critical insight into the creation of the podcast with a clear commitment: giving up is not an option.
In a changing world characterized by uncertainty, geopolitical tensions and social setbacks, diversity remains a key issue – especially at Siemens Switzerland. In this episode, Dashi and Eray talk to Gerd Scheller, Country CEO Siemens Switzerland, and Esther Kupferschmied, Diversity Co-Officer, about how Siemens is positioning itself and why attitude is more important today than ever.
Dashi and Eray turn the format on its head and hand over the reins. Or rather: the microphones. The focus on cultural change remains, but the perspective changes. Our apprentices were given the unique opportunity to share their fresh and often unconventional views and also to confront the clichés. From the choice of topics to the guest to the moderation – the new hosts had a free hand. Dashi and Eray were able to sit back and act as coaches in the preparation phase this time. A successful experiment!
Out of the jungle: ONE Tech Company, Siemens Xcelerator, digital transformation. Can we still see through? What is what and why now? What does this mean for us in Switzerland in order to remain competitive and innovative?
Dashi and Eray talk to their guest Mario Fürst about what ONE Tech Company means exactly and how it fits in with Siemens Xcelerator. One thing is clear: without a vision, there is no clear direction for how technology can improve our work, and without technology, the vision remains a goal that we cannot achieve.
