CAPE (Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment) has been building infrastructure for Asian American storytelling for 35 years, through fellowships, finishing funds, writers programs, and behind-the-scenes matchmaking between studios and the next generation of filmmakers. Chandni also co-founded Mela Collective, a community platform bringing together South Asian tastemakers, founders, and executives, including the annual Diwali Royale gathering and a Sundance activation with Women in Film, to create the kind of intentional connection the community has long needed but rarely had a home for.

He started posting YouTube videos at 13, a shy kid doing magic tricks and VFX experiments to escape his own shell. Now Aman has millions of followers across platforms, a massive female fanbase, and Hollywood is watching. Aman joins Ritika Agrawal to go OFFSCRIPT about what it actually costs to chase both the creator world and the film world at the same time, and why having an audience doesn't mean the doors just open.

Aman is a Los Angeles-based South Asian-American creator and actor known for his Bollywood romantic content and short-form collaborations across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.

Aman explains:

■Hollywood is actively partnering with creators, but a social following alone won't get you a film career. You have to build two separate packages and earn the total one.

■He spends a minimum of 9 to 10 hours editing a single one-minute video, and still insists on doing it himself, because creative control is the whole point.

■The creator economy is on track to hit $500 billion by 2027, but short-form content is ephemeral. The creators with the longest careers build for evergreen value, not just viral moments.

■Nostalgia is his secret weapon: by anchoring Bollywood content to classic songs, his back catalog stays valuable years after it was posted, something trend-chasing never gives you.

■On protecting creative instincts from the algorithm: he uses screen-time blockers, actively limits his feed, and admits he sometimes gets demoralized watching other creators' highlight reels.

■The real psychological shift from shy kid to internet heartthrob happened quietly, during Covid, when the numbers changed on a screen but his day-to-day life didn't , which made it easier to absorb.

■His advice for new creators: start with a repeatable format, lead with a strong hook, do as many collaborations as possible across niches, and build portfolio pieces even when they don't perform, because you're making content for future you, not just for the algorithm today.
